KeK-weekend

This weekend VPS KeK had to perform twice. Of course, I came along to make pictures, and to capture audio and video material. Don't ask me if they sang okay, because I was quite busy operating the three different devices (photo camera, video camera and sound recorder). But, as far as I can judge their performance, it was great. The audience was really enthusiastic and so were the guys themselves.

This summer all the audio and video material will be used to make a cool movie of the group, which will hopefully lead to some nice bookings. All I am now waiting for, is my own hoody with "vps KeK crew" on it ;-)

Shootout

I read a nice article in the local newspaper. It's about workshops for (amateur) photographers, among them a workshop about photographing a live band. Wow, I bet I can learn a lot of cool stuff there!! This week I took a look at the events website..... the prices to participate start at 200 Euro..... and after reading all about the event I guess I'm a bit too much an amateur to participate....

*I want a new digital camera, one that looks a bit more professional. Maybe then I'll dare subscribing*

But it's still very expensive, don't you think?

*verflixtnochmal!*

First camera results in the theater

I've tested my new camera in a theater this week for the very first time. I tried various options and am pretty contented with it.
To see some of the pictures I made, click here to watch the collection "Bye bye".

Now this is the end...

How many times have I seen this image live? Pretty often. How many pictures are made of this moment? Quite a few probably. But this is the final one, the very, very last "Looking for a place to land":

Picture made yesterday during the Goodbye Concert of Montezuma's Revenge (click to enlarge).

And my new camera has been declared GOOD! :D as long as there's not too much movement on stage ;)

The first pictures

I got my new camera on Wednesday and we've been making a lot of test-pictures already. I promised some spectacular pics, but it's hard to make them when there is nothing spectacular to make pictures of ;)
The weather is cloudy and rainy and dark and even inside the house it seems to be dark all the time. But, the supermacro is nice:

The zoom function (12x optical zoom) is also stunning, although I doubt it will be usable during concerts, because it will be hard not to make shaky, unsharp pictures with full zoom. I guess I need a gorilla pod ánd a balcony rail ;)

Anyway, we'll test concert pictures later...

Another cool function on the camera is the "color accent" with which you can make black and white pictures with one color accent. Little demonstration:

That's all for now concerning the "spectacular pics" ;) I want to read the advanced camera user guide (200 pages...) and I'll keep practising and experimenting so I hope I can show you more spectacular pics later.
