Deutsche Grammatik (1)

*knopfchensuch*
*gehirnaufenglischeinstell*
I need to finish a concert report in English now.
CU next time!

Back home - still tired

*seufz*
Ok, suchen wir weiter.

*such*such*

Rock Bamberg!!!!! Here we come :D

Welcome to november

And welcome to 8 degrees Celcius brrrrrrr

Today I rediscovered why I need a new winter coat. Not only because it's 4 (or 5?) years old already, but also because last year the zipper broke.... I forgot about it.

Only one question remains: When do I have time to go shopping? :/

Happy messy busy me :)

A small reminder for myself. Who else cares? ;)
Things to do tomorrow:
- Select, edit and upload pictures from Montezuma in Bonn to fanzone.montezuma.nl and to corine.located.nl
- Upload my report to corine.located.nl
- Water the plants
- Tidy up the house (or maybe later?....)
- Buy hay for McDull
- Print a route description to Bamberg
- Reply my emails
- Make hot chocolate (this may seem weird, but it's really important, because I need a picture of hot chocolate)
- Make a picture of hot chocolate
- Drink cold chocolate
- Stay just as happy as today and yesterday and the day before :D

The first wedding pictures

The pictures of the wedding itself are made by a professional photographer and we haven't seen them yet. That will take a while. But our driver made some pictures during the photoshooting and Remco made many pictures during the party in the evening. Click the picture below to see a selection of them.

From the ABC

"W"? ;)

My friends made us an ABC-movie, which was very funny. And why Montezuma's Revenge is put under "W" ???...... complicated story.
And they probably didn't know Martin made the picture... hahahaha

Does somebody need a translation?

Thanks :)

We only need to get rid of some balloons...... ;)
We decided not to wake the neighbours at 02.30 this night hahaha.

What a great party yesterday! There'll be pictures online later this week, I guess. And if I can, I'll put a short movie online in a few weeks as well... but I can't promise that.

It's the 15th of October! Really weird; the world doesn't stop after the 14th! haha. There are plenty of things to look forward to right now. Things I haven't been thinking about yet, because everything was about the wedding during the past few weeks.

More about the wedding later.
Unforgettable!

So.

Vla - the neverending story

My story about German people and vla. Will it never end?

Summary:

- Wise Guys in Münster, March 2005: Dän brings vla for the winner of the quiz. Ferenc is the lucky one. This concert is the reason of the following events:

- Wise Guys Tanzbrunnen concert, May 2005: Martin and I bring vla for some people we know from the Wise Guys forum. Our vlaparty on the banks of the Rhein is still making us smile.

- Wise Guys forum meeting, KusS, July 2005: I bring 4 liters of vla and everybody loves me.

- Wise Guys in Wesel, December 2005: Dän brings me a signed DVD from Bodo Wartke and I give him vla. His reaction: "GEIL!!!" and he looks like a 10-year old having a birthday party.

And ever since, I can't get rid of the topic 'vla'. Right now, there even is a Grüße an alle Vla Liefhaber in the Wise Guys Forum.

And today I discoverd a website which is -for me- too funny. ProVla, a German fansite for vla hahahahahahahaha. This website is a little older, but the fact that it exists hahaha. Ok, I'm curious what will come up next.
At least, I have to make a vla delivery in Bamberg this november.
@lena: Wie viele Tetrapacken möchtest du haben?

I'm wondering if I should bring some liters for the Wise Guys as well? Would they prefer vla after the show in stead of their Kölsch? ;)

To be continued....

Me and my pretty shoes - II

I wrote "Part 1", so there should be a part 2 as well. And I've got to hurry, because there's not much time left.

I'm happy because we came up with the idea I can easily wear my old, durty but nice and most important comfortable sporting shoes under the wedding dress during the foto shooting. You won't see my shoes anyway, so why bother wearing those beautiful but uncomfortable shoes? So that means I only have to wear them from 1400 until late in the evening, instead of from 1100 until late in the evening. Three hours of feet relief. How beautiful ;)

I do practise almost daily, but my left foot seems to be a little bigger and aaaaarg, well, who cares.

How do you feel? That's a question I'm being asked a lot lately. So here's my answer: I feel great. Just great. And I feel so much in love :) I'm not nervous (yet?), I'm looking forward to the wedding so much. I'm curious what it'll feel like, to be in the spotlights all day. Well... we'll see. Just wait. Be patient.. haha

Is there a better way to start your weekend?

Imagine a long, hard day at work. You go home, tired, but really happy because it's weekend! And you are going to have a great weekend, you already know ;)
But then, your weekend gets even better! When you get home, you find an envelop on your doormat with a familiair handwriting. You recognise it as Nico Jacobs' (Rock4) handwriting and what do you do? You can't believe what you see. He's never been this quick! You only ordered this cd last Tuesday!
But things like this happen :D
He must have known it's my birtyday tomorrow ;)
And Martin is happy as well, because he didn't have a birthday present yet, and now he does. He happy + me happy = we happy!

Btw: The album is just great! I really love their music. Order it here! -->"A Night at the Opera"

Message from the busy me

I'm sorry, the English translation of the report of Montezuma's concert from last Sunday will have to wait a little longer. I'll try to write it this weekend, but I'm not sure if I can find enough time. Also, some people wrote me an email and are probably waiting for an answer, I'll write you as soon as possible. At the moment there are more important things to be done ;)
You all understand, right? :D

But, I can tell you I am feeling really, really good and happy. Life is just great!

Oh, and one more thing I want to share with you: This month, there are so many people visiting my website. Ok, it's nothing compared to big websites, but nevertheless still impressing to me. The amount of unique visitors and the number of visits has doubled this month! Why? I don't know. But I like it :D It's a pity a day only has got 24 hours. I've got so many ideas for my website: Things to write, things to add. I need time, you need patience. It'll come in time :)

Time to go to bed. Still got to catch up some sleep.
Love ya all!

Happy Birthday to me!!!!

Oooooh, I only have 30 minutes to celebrate my first birthday! I only just found out about my birthday. What a coincidence, isn't it. Well, here we go, all together now:
Happy birthday to me, happy birthday to me, happy birthday to me-ee, happy birthday to this blog!

Me and my pretty shoes

Part 1.

a) What a lovely day today. It felt like summer; the sun was shining, it was about 25 degrees. Time to wear shorts of course.
b) Today I got my shoes for the wedding. That means from now on I will have to practise walking on them. Although the heels are not that high, these shoes are not the type of shoes I normally wear.

Combining a) with b) makes:

Lovely, isn't it? ;)
I guess with my wedding dress it looks a little better.

To be continued...

Warum bin ich so frohlich?

Ik ben vandaag zo vrolijk

Well, that's an easy question :D
I'm happy because we were still looking for that particular 'transportation' for our wedding, and now suddenly we've got four options! Can it get any better? I don't think so :D I'm so relieved we found them!!! And now we're facing the more difficult question: Which of those four options is the best, the nicest, the most suitable one? But -as always- we'll manage!!
Can I get any happier? :D Yes I can:
Our supersecret mystery is received enthusiastically by the people who needs to cooperate with us. So that will be a succes as well, although it demands quite a lot of preparation. But, the more energy we'll put in it, the more successful we will be.
Oh, it's so nice to be mysterious. But luckily we're not the only ones, our families are organising things as well and they're not making a slip of their tongues as well.
Can I get any happier? :D Of course:
Montezuma Fanzone is going to be released in time :D I'm 100% sure of it now! And I have to admit: I'll be quite glad when it's finished, so I can concentrate a little more on the wedding.

Gedanken loswerden - third part

Ok. Here I am again. Just taking a few minutes to tell you all I'm busy, busy and busy. I need to reply some emails, but I can't find time. I want to post some messages in some blogs, but I can't find time.
It'll all be over in a few weeks (will it? haha).
In 12 days the Montezuma Fanzone needs to be running (OMG, really, just 12 more days??? AAAAH!!!!). But we'll manage, of course :D I need to do some more photoshopping, a job which can't be done hastely. And then we have to move the official forum and rebuild it to the new lay-out.... I hope it won't bring too much problems along....
And in a couple of weeks we're getting married. Final preparations need to be taken care of! Flowers are hard to choose.... I've got some books but most pictures look like the bride is carrying a complete bush around and if you know me.... you'll know it doesn't suit me at all. It needs to be small, fashionable, elegant and easy to carry. Hmmmm.... hard....

I'm so glad I visited a Wise Guys concert last Friday. Whenever I think of it these days, there's this smile on my face again. Such a concert gives me so much new energy. Oh, and I got a great idea for a kind of essay on my website about .. well, not going to tell you yet! When I've got time I'll write it. But it will be the first thing written in German on my website, oh yeah ;)
Friday was so great *sigh* *smile*

Also:

So.

Mister Spider

I'm so happy with our "creepy animal catcher". This spider was really huge. And who do you think was the lucky one to catch it? Me. Because Martin doesn't like spiders. But, to be honoust, I don't like this Mister Spider much as well.... iiiiiieeeeee!

Btw: On this picture he really looks smaller than in real life. Trust me, he's big.

Will it get any worse?

Today I received a letter and I started reading:

How oft do you receive information about products and services that doesn't have your interest at that time?

Ehm.... well, what am I holding in my hands right now?

Please fill in this questionnaire so we'll have a complete view of your interests and information needs. If you send the questionnaire back to us you could win a CD or maybe you win one of the other 1005 prices!

Ehm.... do they really think I'm crazy??

*sigh*

Also, kein Racoon für mich.

I don't want a lot for Christmas....

[sing]Do you hear the sleigh bells ring? Santa is coming to town! A very merry Christmas and a happy new year! Snow is falling, all around me. Children playing, having fun. We are the world, we are the children!

*lalalala* tralalaliiiii [/sing]

Coming in the mood already? I am! YEAH!!! :D

.......

Ok, and now honestly? Here it comes:
Oh my God... I'm hearing Christmas songs! *run and hide!* It's only August d*mn!! AAAARRG!!

But well,
Since we are going to join the worlds biggest vocal pop choir this november... and the postman brought us the practising cd's today...
But why did they chose the theme "Christmas"? I'm not really happy with it actually. But, there's nothing I can change about it. By the way, Martin and I are joining together with some people from Martins choir. But, we are in different voice groups of course. So I guess we won't see each other all day long haha.
Some months ago: "Let's go together, it'll be so much fun!" "Yeah, let's do that" Hmmm....
There'll be about 2000 people that day...
After 25.11: "It was so much fun, wasn't it?" "Yeah, but I didn't see you around, were you really there?" "Let's go together again next year!" "Yeah, let's do that, I really like to do things together with you!" ;)

Hahahahaha. You know the worst thing? One of the songs is "Winter Wonderland". Our reaction when we hear that song can be described like this: We scream and turn of the song as quickly as possible. The reason for this reaction? In 2002 (?) we visited the Vocal Group Festival in Tilburg, and "Winter Wonderland" was the compulsory song during the contest. So we heard this song about 10, 15 times that day, all with the same arrangement. And ever since, we can't hear the song anymore. Now we have to sing it ourselves... omg....

But, don't worry. We are going to have so much fun :D
[sing]....and so this is Christmas aaaaaah aaaaah aaaaah aaaaaaah *ALL TOGETHER NOW!* we hope you have fun | the near and the dear ones | the old and the young [/sing]

Live from Fanzone Headquarters

Jaaaaaa..... a quick snapshot into the room where it's all happening. But I've blurred the most interesting thing: the new Montezuma Fanzone website on the laptop screen ;) Have to keep it secret for a little longer.
Sometimes I'm wondering if we have too many computer (screens)? But we really need them, they all have their own purposes hahaha.

Ok, back to work!
By the way: We're hearing Basta. Enough Montezuma things in my head these days already ;)

Henry IV in the forest

Yesterday it was time for our traditional trip to Diever, in the north of the Netherlands. I first came there when I was 9 years old, and it was the place where (later) Martin and I got together as well. We visit this village every year now, because of the Shakespeare theater plays in the open air theater. It's the complete atmosphere in this theater which is so nice. Ever since I first visited a Shakespeare play in this theater, I love Shakespeare. This year, they're celebrating their 60th birthday, and because of that, they perform 2 plays this summer: Henry IV part 1 and part 2. Yesterday, both plays were performed. Part 1 in the afternoon and part 2 in the evening. They're both one of the few historical plays Shakespeare wrote. And therefor, we didn't expect these plays to be so much fun. But we have laughed a lot yesterday. Well, and now I want to show you some pictures :)

Lunch on the campsite, before we went to the theater.

This year, they made a lot of efforts with the stage because of the anniversary. Inspired by the Globetheater in London.

The seats in this theater are really nice - if you bring your own cushions. But luckely, most people know about it. By the way, this causes a really funny effect when you're walking from the village towards the theater (which is just outside the village, in the middle of the forest). Everybody is carrying cushions and bags with drinks and food. It's like we're all going to have a huge picknick.

Even if you've brought your own cushions, after two plays in one day (equals 6 hours sitting), your can't feel your ass anymore. But we don't care, because we loved it! Especially in the evening, when it's getting dark, the theater is so beautiful and the stage is lighted so beautiful.

More pictures of the play itself can be found here

And, as always, I am already wondering what play they will play next year. Will it be The Comedy of Errors? Or Much Ado About Nothing? Or maybe even Romeo and Juliet?

Gedanken loswerden - part 2

Ok, but this time in English ;)
I'm sitting here, busy as always ever since we came back from Malta. But I'm getting used to it. I'm glad my list of things I have to do is shrinking. But it won't take long before volleybal is starting, and new a cappella concerts are about to be visited as well within a few weeks. So time is shrinking as well. Our marriage needs some final planning and organising and that's why I'm sitting here; I'm out of inspiration and I thought I could just do some "Gedanken loswerden". I need a few creative thoughts, right now please. This afternoon we really have to finish the exact lay-out of our wedding invitations.
Speaking of them, I am really curious what people will think of the cards *hehe*. They're not the usual 'rings-with-a-rose-' or 'champagne-glass-kinda-card'. Actually, attentive people might even notice (a) small link(s) to a cappella on the card *hehe*. Well, I shouldn't say too much. Let me do some more brainstorming and I'll get back to you.. later..

A star for one day

For those of you who were in Utrecht yesterday: You were lucky! Because I was there as well! Thanks to my friends you could easily spot me between the shopping crowd. With bright, almost luminous orange stars on my black clothes I was walking around, ready to give you my signature. Strangely enough nobody asked me for a signature - I think they were all too amazed by my appearance ;) But, I brought my fanclub and they didn't leave my side for a minute. During the round trip through the canals I waved at all my fans, they were gazing at me from the many bridges we passed. Some even had the courage to wave back at me and smiled at me.

The lack of silly pictures of me has probably been solved within one day. The only 'problem' is: I don't have the pictures, because a star is always being photographed - it would be silly to make pictures of myself, wouldn't it? But maybe one of my fans will be so nice to send me a picture to put here in my blog.

Conclusion: Having a bachelor party organised for you is really nice, but I'm glad it only happens once in a lifetime.

Wednesday, August 09, 2006

Sorry, sorry

Ok, I realise it's not completely fair to put silly pictures of Martin online. I'll make things up and put some old pictures of me online as well. The only problem is, in contrary to Martin I don't have many silly pictures of myself.
But, I'll give it a try:

Sweeeeet! (4 years old)

Terrible glasses!! omg.. and the haircut! haha (11 years old)

Look who I'm going to marry :D

I'm doing some scanning tonight.... and I found some pictures from Martin, all from 1999. I just couldn't help myself, I had to scan them and put them here :P

My sister and I did his hair: (which was quite long here, and there was still quite a lot of it)

This looks real, but it is not:

This is what you do when you're in a tent while it's raining and you are bored:

And this is what you do when you're in a tent when it isn't raining but you are still bored: (for Dutch people: This is Martins Kabouter Plop imitatie)

Don't forget, this was in 1999. He grew up, did he?
I'm so much looking forward to our wedding pictures hihi ;P

Gedanken loswerden

;) hdl

Pictures of Malta

I've tried to make a selection of our many many pictures from Malta. We've uploaded them to a google web album and you can watch all the pictures HERE.

I've only added some very quick and short comments with the pictures because I don't know if there are people interested in longer stories. But I'll be happy to answer any questions about the pictures, so if you want to know more about the why/what/where, don't hesistate to ask me.

Just being hacked

Ok, we're home again and real life is grasping us and pulling us back to earth. The server which stores our websites has been hacked last night. Really nice..... *grmbl* Just take a look at our websites on located.nl or the evergreenkoor80.nl website. All the index pages have been replaced with the message "by Th3h4ck3r 0wnz y0u s3rv3r n0 v4r"

Nice, isn't it? Stupid teasing action from an idiot. Well, I don't have time for it now, we are going to find a new(er) car *sigh* because our Ferrari unfortunately needs replacement.

Back home

Hi!!!! We're back home from Malta. A holiday different than any other we had this far, but we had an unbelievable great time there, and I'll probably post more about it later.

Just a quick message here to thank you for your mails and messages. I'll reply to you within a few days probably. Let us first tidy up and try to get used to the Dutch way of life again...

It's so damn cold here hmmmm....

We made more than 1000 pictures (oops). Just one for now:

Besuch!!

Do laachste dich kapott

Hab heute Däns neuer Eintrag gelesen und darauf folgenderweise ins Gästebuch geantwortet:

@Dän:
Wird Deutschland ernst, unfreundlich und kalt empfunden?? Not by me ;) Aber nee, ohne Quatsch, ich erkenne das was du schreibst.

Maltese?

So we're going to Malta this summer :D

Jien Corine, dak hu Martin: Hawn ahna!

I thought it would be fun to learn a little Maltese before we leave. But Maltese is an Arabic language and that is so much different than Germanic languages. Really, I don't understand a thing. I'm lucky they use the normal writing, so there's no abacadabra just by looking at it. But without sound examples I will never succeed hahahaha. Well, it's fun anyway ;)

And by the way: The Maltese people all speak English. You won't believe how happy I am ;)

Der Mond im Spagat

Aha! Ich hab's!! Ja!!!

Alle Sterne stehen (in unsere Augen) falsch herum.

Toe philosophy & Klartext

Every June I'm having a weekend holiday with some old fellow students. Girls only, our men have to stay at home. A little holiday is always very welcome, but a free holiday is even more welcome! This year, our stay was free of charge, because last year we had some trouble. And after our complaints about it, we got a free weekend in return. No complaints about the organisation, they deserve a link.

We planned this weekend months ago and we were all looking forward to it. And this time we chose to visit Zeeland (a province of NL in the south-west). I have been there several times in the past with Martins family and it's just a beautiful place to be. I love the sound of the sea and although I don't really prefer spending hours on the beach sunbathing, I loved it this weekend. We've even been swimming in the sea!!! Still cold, but satisfying after baking (burning...) in the sun.

So, what more have we been doing? What do women do, when there are no men around? Nothing spectacular, actually. For instance, we discussed toes. Did you know you can recognise people's characteristics by looking at their toes? Little lesson in toe-philosophy: Take a look at the second big toe on your right foot; is it bigger or just as big as your big toe? Than, you are ambitious! Take a look at the second big toe on your left foot: Is it bigger or just as big as your big toe? Than you are a sensitive person and you don't succeed in cleaning up the mess you make. Ok, untill here, it's pretty innocent and general. But, if you can "seperate" your left little toe (which stands for selfconfidence and sex) from the others, it means you are capable of having sex without love or deep emotion! We are strongly doubting the reliablility of this philosophy, because five of us could actually move their little toe in a way we would call it seperate from the others. Well, anyway.. That's what women discuss, right? Stupid magazines, by the way. We also discussed marriage (two of us are getting married within the next year, including me), kids (one of us is pregnant), men (two of us are still single and well, the others are experts), work (we almost all have similar jobs (in child/youth care), etc. The usual women stuff ;)

Zeeland is also the place where the Klartext fotoshooting (2002/03?) took place. For those who don't know what I'm talking about, take a look at the picture on the right here. It's one of the pictures taken during that fotoshooting. I recognised the lighthouse immediately when I saw it on the picture. And this weekend, I just had to go to this specific place and I watched the sunset there. Stupid, I know. But it's just a very nice place. And well, being a Wise Guys fan.... ok... no more words, the pictures:

Isn't it beautiful?? Wow, it was so nice to sit there and wait for the sun to go down. The temperature was going down with the sun, but I didn't care. Skating back made me warm again.

On Sunday I saw something which I really wanted to do, but my friends didn't want to do it. I'm sure, if I would be there with another group of friends, we would hire this immediately. Just because, right? ;) You know ;)

Hört ihr sie schon singen? Ich habe schon ´nen Ohrwurm ;)

So, our weekend was a great succes and we're already doing some brainstorming for next year. Maybe we'll go sailing in Friesland (in the north of NL)!

It's about time!

Martin and I are getting married! Most people know already, but I couldn't write anything in my blog yet, because some of our friends were having a holiday in China for four weeks and we wanted to tell them personally. I didn't want them to find out by reading my blog (probably they didn't check it at all, but you never know...). Now they're back, and we've told them, so I can finally write things down here. And that's about time, isn't it?

So, how am I doing lately? Actually, I'm busy and a bit forgetful. There are a lot of things going on in my mind and I'm a bit more chaotic than people are used of me. I apologize.
I believe I promised some people a more detailed story about the 'how and what'. Well, let's just give you a short summery. Martin and I met in the summer of 1997 on a tiny campsite in the Netherlands. After a year in which we sporadically wrote each other letters (real ones, with post stamps!!) we met again in the summer of 1998 and from that day on we are in love. So, that's 8 years this summer. Time to get finally married, right? (It's about time haha). The first 5 years we spend travelling from the west to the east of NL and back, because we lived 145 km apart (measured in a straight line). But since 2003 we are living together and the weekly travelling is over. Of course we've discussed marriage quite often already, but it just never came to it. Martin even started joking we would probably just have to pick a date one day. How unromantic ;) So I decided it was time for some action. With easter we went back to 'our' campsite, had a nice walk and that day I asked Martin to marry me.

And now, we're preparing our wedding day, which will be in October. Yes, in October already. We thought six months would be enough to organise this day. And besides:
(icq with Lena, 8. May)
I: Aber, eigentlich bin ich froh das wir in Oktober heiraten, denn im Sommer gibt es fast keine a cappella Konzerte die mich ablenken ;)
lena: sehr cool, nach was du deine Pläne richtest - a-cappella-Konzerte *lach*

My friends are planning a bachelor party... of course. But I think they had some problems finding a date that suits us all.
(msn with Ria - 29. May)
Ria: I'm getting desperate of your agenda.
I: Oh ja? You should see my schedule for oct-nov-dec [...] But hey, "et hät noch immer jot jejange".
Ria: And that means??

I really can understand why people get desperate of me as well.... But well... et es, wie et es. And I am who I am.

Organising a wedding day is a lot of work, that's what everybody says. But actually it's not that hard at all. It's just how you deal with things. We're quite easy with a lot of things. And because we know each other for such a long time, we know exactly what we like. Yesterday we decided it was time to search for wedding rings. We visited the first jeweler we could find and within 45 minutes we were a lot poorer. It's so easy ;) (and the rings are so pretty!!!)

We also 'discussed' the topic honeymoon. But we both agreed we don't want our honeymoon in October, after the wedding. No, we're going on honeymoon BEFORE our wedding! :D This summer we are going to Malta!!!! We booked yesterday and we are looking forward to it so much! It'll be the first time we are going to fly, yeah really! And we've never been that far away from home.

Jetzt erst mal ins Bett.

Me a referee?? - that rhymes - and a toothpaste story

I am officially an arbitrator now. Tonight I passed the exam. I was actually hoping I would fail because I don't want to be an arbitrator. Don't ask me why I was doing this course, we all just had to do it. So I passed. I guess it was too simple. But I don't see myself doing this next year... So, am I happy now? not really... The only cool thing is, I've got a red and yellow card now. I think I'm going to use them at work with the kids ;)
By the way, last weekend (in Köln) Steffi gave me new Blendi, and the kids really love it. They were very happy I brought it for them. One of the kids asked me if I had been to Germany again (he's five years old). Because I had told them I had to go to Germany to buy new Blendi. Funny, he remembered this. The kids love this toothpaste mostly because it glitters.

Hmmm... I actually wanted to write a longer story, but the words don't come out today. I'm too tired. Let's go to bed, quite early for a change.

Jetzt ist Sommer!

Die Wetteraussichten in Köln für morgen:

Regnerisch, 15° C
Aber es ist mir egal. Hauptsache: Ich bin dabei!

Und was sagt lena dazu? >lesen<
*lach*
Vielen Dank süße! ;)

Busy...

We're so busy right now. There are a lot of things we have to plan and organise. For instance, our day trip to Köln at the end of May. I'm soooo much looking forward to it!! Can hardly wait! And the first weekend of June is going to be full of (a cappella) music as well! I'll do some 'homework' during the next 3 weeks, to prepair writing my concert reports because there are quite a lot of groups I don't know anything about. And that's about to change.
So, there'll be new stuff to read on my website soon :D
I'm also planning new a cappella concerts for 2006-2007, and the list of things I want/have to do is growing every day/week...
I'll tell you more about our plans in June ;) I think I won't have much time to blog in May....

Love you all!

I've got mail

Today is a very, very good day. The postman brought us our Tanzbrunnen concert tickets, the newest Wise Guys Magazin (eeeeeeendlich!!!) and a package from a friend in South Africa (yes Aryan, it has reached us).
And I don't need to work tomorrow. So guess, could I be happier today? ;)
Now I'll be offline for the rest of the evening. I'm going to read the magazin, and after that I'll try to solve the final clues in Nina's Pay-TV puzzle.

High higher highest

Next week, one of my friends is getting married. So yesterday we had a bachelor party to celebrate. There were different activities, and we drove from one place to another with 3 cars. In my car I amused the people with the new Wise Guys album Radio. (Eh.... did I amuse you Ria? Wilma, you did like it, didn't you? *hihi*) OK, not everybody likes a cappella. And not everybody understands German. But I love it, and if you're in my car... ;)

We had a really great time together. The climbing was a great activity. I really had no idea if I could do this, but it's really not as hard as I had imagined. And it was sooooo cool! I want to do it again! I want to get higher!

So.

Royalty Proms

April 30. is Queensday in the Netherlands. This year, the party would be on Saturday 29. April, because for some reason people can't party on a Sunday ;) I'm not really a Queensday party animal myself, and I'm not really patriotic or whatsoever. But tonight Martin had to perform with his choir and he promised me a spectaculair evening. Martin was busy all afternoon, rehearsing with the choir and soundchecking in the theater. I made a walk through the overcrowded city center and finally found the poffertjes-stand during my third round :P After some delicious poffertjes I got home quickly because it was too cold and unfortunately a bit rainy.
Although I'm not really patriotic, I put on my orange t-shirt, my orange socks, my blue jeans, my red jacket and I felt really Dutch. Together with my parents, Remco and Anne we arrived at the Rabotheater quite early and waited anxiously for the evening to get started. The concert would take place in the big hall and all the (free) tickets were "sold out".

Performing together were: Concordia, Evergreen-Koor '80, Jeroen van Haagen (tenor), Patrick Curfs (I've never heard a better saxofonist!) and the band Cool Credit (they honoured their name).

Oh what a night! It was really great to be here and listen to the music. Martin didn't promise us too much.
During the waltzes I schunkelt with my mother ;) and I walked around playing the official Evergreen-Koor '80 photographer (I always enjoy doing that). Remco was making pictures as well and we started a silly competition who could take the best pictures ;) The audience was in a good mood and the conductor was acting silly all the time. E.g. he got a beer and drank it in one draft before continuing the next song. On Queensday you can do anything you like.

Program:
- Also sprach Zarathustra
- Sabeldans
- La Gazza Ladra
- Music was my first love
- Against all odds
- Fortuna imperatrix mundi (from Carmina Burana)
- Some enchanted evening
- This nearly was mine
- Fliegermarsch

- Slavenkoor (Hebrews' Chorus from Nabucco)
- The last rose of summer
- Vilja (from Die lustige Witwe)
- Baker Street
- Mc Arthurpark
- Nocturne
- Carnaval in Venice
- The Exodus Song
- I can see clearly now
- Comedians Gallop

- Land of Hope and Glory
- You'll never walk alone
- Wilhelmus (national anthem)

More pictures can be found on the website of the Evergreen-Koor '80 soon.

Einfach immer geradeaus?

A cappella Sucht Nebenwirkung:

Happy Birthday, Martin!!
OK, his birthday was last Tuesday, but we're celebrating today. The results of the hours I spend in the kitchen last night and this morning:

And I'm really curious if there is somebody who can tell me where I got the ticker tape ;)

Lauch Torte

Also, los geht's!

Dann braucht man 150 gr. Speck in Streifen geschnitten.

Ja!!

>>> Wise Guys <<
Und einfach immer auf reinhören klicken.

GENIAL!! :D
Ab 05.05.06 überall zu kaufen. In Deutschland.

Kick the habit?

My latest Wise Guys concert is already more than 10 days ago. And my next a cappella concert is not even close. I'm kicking the habit... and planning for next year ;)
The new Rock4 tourlist is online, and I'm also planning Montezuma concerts. There are also already two Wise Guys concerts planned for the second half of 2006. Nice, isn't it?
But, my thoughts are mostly with the 27th of May... I really really really would love to go to Köln that day to visit the Wise Guys open air concert in Tanzbrunnen. But.... I don't know if I can go. By train is too expensive. I have to go by car, so I can't go there alone. So, dear dear readers: Who wants to come with us? Martin wants to join me, but he only wants to go, if there are some other Dutch people coming along - he doesn't want to speak German all day ;)
Last years Tanzbrunnen was so great. You can read all about it on my website. So... who's coming?

Tour details:
Departure Hengelo 10.00
Arrival Köln 13:00 (we need to be this early to gather good places)
Concert starts at 18:00
Departure Köln 21:30?
Arrival Hengelo 00.30
Concert tickets are about 21 euros.

Reassurance: a) I know how to get there, b) Between 13:00 and 18:00 there's enough to discuss, chat and laugh, c) If we are early we can sit dry if it rains, and d) it's May so it will probably be dry and warm.

Cooooool :D

Wow, my new website is online and I'm really happy :D And there's one big advantage I hadn't thought of yet: Because I'm no longer using frames and because I am now also using PHP, I can see the referers in my statistics. And that's so cool. It means I can see how somebody found my website, when they are coming from a page that linked me. With my old website it didn't function because of the stupid frameset.
Last evening/night there were people visiting my website, coming from the Wise Guys Forum, Anette Dewitz' website and my blogger profile. It's really fun to know :) I wish all those people were leaving messages in my guestbook as well... so I could know who they are! But they don't do that most of the time. Anyway, I'm really happy with my new website :D

Volleybalpaasei

We lost the volleyball game tonight. With 3-2. But......... we're out of the danger zone :D We've gathered enough points to stay in second class. So actually we should be happy. But we weren't that happy about the game. We should have won it. We could have won it.

When I cycled back home I got soaked wet, because it was pouring! What a great night. Now I'm back home and I'm doubting whether or not I am going to finish my Wise Guys concert report. Maybe I should go to sleep and finish it tomorrow. But I love to work on it so much! I really do. Else I won't write those terribly long reports. I wish Martin came home. He's at a friends house tonight. But I need him to make my new email page functioning. For some reason I can't fix the bug. If the email page is functioning, I can put my new website online. Same content, different lay-out.

Look what I got tonight: A huge chocolate easter egg *yummmmmmm*
I got it for the volunteer work I do in my volleyball club. And I'm going to eat it now! *yumyum*

And I might just finish the report tonight...

Hmmm... I'm rereading my entry here and for some reason it sounds quite sad. But I'm not sad at all! :) Just feeling ok. Tired maybe?

Am I being contagious? & Morgen ist es soweit!

Recently I wrote about infecting some of my German friends with the Zuma virus. I've been trying to do the opposite for months already, but this week I finally succeeded. I can proudly tell you I've really infected a Dutch woman with the Wise Guys virus :D It's such a good feeling *grins* She wants to come along to a Wise Guys concert next time. Well... next time is tomorrow so that won't be possible, but there will always be a next time after next time.

So. *nichtdarandenken*
Morgen sehe ich Maike, Mella, Martina, Mareike (alle M-Namen... komisch), Clementine und Solli wieder :D *freu*freu* Und natürlich die Wise Guys!!!!! Neue Lieder, neue Bühneoutfits... Ferenc in rosa??????? eeeeeeeeeeeh.... ich mag kein rosa.....

Hab ich noch etwas vergessen?
Liest jemand das hier noch?
Egal ;) ich freu mich anyway.

Progressing!

I'm so happy. My new website lay-out is finally finished. And I'm so proud of it! Yesterday I had a brilliant flash of inspiration and I made new buttons for the left menu (third and last attempt). Today I created beautiful "mouse-over" effects. The result is beautiful, if you ask me. I can't stop moving my mouse over the buttons and see the effects *hihi*.

Now all I have to do is move all the pages into the new lay-out. That will take a while, because I have to check all the links in all the pages. But the 'release date' of my new website might be sooner than I expected!

I'm hearing the House Jacks, they are my newest discovery in the a cappella world. A cool rockband, with a vocal percussion and guitar sounds... you'll faint if you hear it. Amazing what they can do with their voices. So I'm having a great time here :) And I might just call today a pyjamas day. Why getting dressed if I'll go to bed tonight again anyway? ;)

Komische Drogen....

Shalalala, shalalala, shalalala

Sometimes it's really frustrating when you are an a cappella addict. Sometimes I fear my friends and family are suffering from my addiction:
  • I already couldn't make it to one of Martins concerts (with the choir he is singing in) because I was going to a Rock4 concert.
  • I sometimes notice I try to change the subject of a conversation in such a way we'll end up talking about a cappella music. Please people, tell me if I'm irritating...
  • And today I even decided not to meet my friends next Saturday, as I planned to do, but I'll go to a Voice Male concert instead. (And then meet my friends afterwards)
Yes, that's correct: I'm going to Voice Male next Saturday!!!!! :D :D And...... *roll of drums* in the afternoon join an a cappella workshop!! That is so cool!! I'm really looking forward to it, but I'm a little nervous at the same time.... I haven't got a clue what kind of people there will be and part of the workshop will be about beatboxing.... I really can't do that. But... we'll see what happens.

As always, there is a detailed report coming up next week. I don't know when I've got time to write it, but I'll stay up late if I have to.

And girls (if you're reading this): I'll be there about 23:45 :)

To google and to being googled

Amazing what you can find with Google. I've typed my name (first name + surname) in Google quite often, and then you'll find me, but you'll also find my aunt, she's got exactly the same name.
But today I tried >>"wise guys" corine<<. The results are really funny. The Allerletzte Website comes first, then Nini's Forum and her Guestbook, lena's blog and Sarah's blog. Really cool. I only see you won't find my website... mmm...
My site can be found with search engines, but it doesn't happen very often. And when it happens, it's often because of the list of old Montezuma singers. Does anybody know how I can change this? I'm rebuilding my website now anyway....

Girls vs. Boys

My sister Gonneke was here this weekend. On Saturday we went shopping and in the evening we went to the city center to play pool. Remco was also coming with us, so we could play in two teams. Girls vs. Boys. We had a lot of fun and made too many pictures and silly movies.

When boys lose:

When girls win:

By the way, I shouldn't be telling you this, but mmm... i'm silly anyway: We only won this game because they shot the black ball in the pocket....

When I miss the ball (click to enlarge the picture):

Quotes to remember - originals in dutch: (sorry, insiders...)
- >DUH< Geef hier... (>DUH< Give it to me...)
- Ligt je hoofd daar nog? (Is your head still lying there?)
- Totally tutting.

We also watched the movie Dragonfly, which is really beautifull. And we need a strict diet now. Too much chocolate, poffertjes, icecream and more chocolate >.<

To be repeated? Definitely.

How are you feeling today?

  • Frustrated. I blame our car.

  • Happy. I love the internet. I finally found the right table settings for my new website. Which means I've finally managed to write a new table structure (and with that made a start of my new layout).

  • Proud. Because I did it all by myself.

  • Frustrated. More yeah. Because it only works in Firefox. And not in Internet Explorer.... IE sucks.

  • Sad. Because 23.5. is a Tuesday. And Rotterdam is on the other side of the Netherlands, 185 km away.
And for the Dutch people: let's try to make the show at the Luxor Theatre in Rotterdam on May 23rd a real happening. The Oude Luxor is a very nice theatre in the heart of Rotterdam and it would be so nice if we can make it a full house! We have something in stall for you to connect it with our new show, but plans for that have to be worked out yet. But you HAVE to be there..... (from: www.montezuma.nl.)

Please cross your fingers for me..... :/

Our car is having a problem. It doesn't want to start every now and then. It started showing this bad temper about 10 days ago.... So we brought the car to the garage last Saturday. There was probably some dust somewhere on/in the *don't know the english word for this* shoke. Well, so they cleaned it and I thought it was over. This morning I got to work without problems. But going back wasn't that easy. For some reason this car is only showing this problem when I'm going back home. It never showed the problem here in our street, when I wanted to go somewhere. Weird, isn't it? As if it doesn't want to go home with me, but stay at work instead. The opposite of this would make more sense, of course. I wouldn't mind if it shows the problem early in the morning. "Sorry girls (I don't have male collegues ;)), I can't make it to get to work, I'll try again later today, you'll have to spend the day without me. You'll manage, don't you?". Well, no, that's not my way of behaviour, of course ;) ;)
So today, the car didn't want to start, and only after several attempts it started, broke down, started again, broke down again, started again and running really weird, but eventually it kept running. And I got home *pfff...*
Please keep your fingers crossed for me. I'm too dependent on this car... I don't need it on Thursday, so I'll bring the car to the garage on Wednesday after work. Which means it has to function for another two days. And please, let it start without problems.... It's very frustrating when it doesn't want to start. I'm really scared I'll end up somewhere with a car that really doesn't want to go.... :/

Celebrate good times, come on!

YEAH!! We did it!!! Wir haben es geschafft! Nou en of! :D We won the game with 3-1 tonight. FINALLY! The one set we lost, had a 23-25 final score, so we almost had that one as well.
Next wednesday I want exactly the same training as last wednesday! It was worth the sweat and grazed elbows ;)
I'm really happy. I had a great night, and I don't feel sorry for being here in Hengelo, while at the same time -right now- my brother and sister are seeing a Rock4 Queenconcert in Eindhoven. But I don't mind. JUHU!! (ok, just a bit... i wanna be with them!)

We're going down.........

Pfffffffff... Can anybody tell me why we had such a hard and tough volleyball training tonight? Do you think it could have something to do with the fact we lost the previous eight games? First we were in 4th place, now we're in 6th place...

Last Saturday I had to leave the game early, because Martin and I had to go to Münster. When I left, we were ahead with 2-1. But we lost the game with 3-2..... They just can´t do it without me! ;) ;) ;)

But even though today's training was really tiring, I feel great :D :D I love it! Please, let us have a training like this every week!!! It might be helpful as well.

To be continued next Friday, when we have to play a game again. We WILL winn! We WANT to WIN!

*cry*

Oooo no.... I had a haircut yesterday. But the hairdresser cut my hair too short!! I really don't like it *grr* :/ I wanted it just a little bit shorter, but not this short *sigh*. And I was thinking "well, let's have a haircut, because my hair is really getting too long and next Saturday Martin and I are going out (Zuma in Münster!!) and I want my hair to be pretty then". And now it's too short!
The only advantage: In four weeks, when we are going to another Wise Guys concert, it will hopefully have grown just perfectly long enough to be stunning beautiful *G* :D
