It's frustrating sometimes.... we would go out today with friends and their family, we would visit a touristic place in the Netherlands with Linlins parents who are here from China. But yesterday evening Martin and I ran into problems when we were finalizing and checking the time plan for the festival. So we'll be at home today, solving the problems, because the time plan has to be finished on Wednesday. Tomorrow evening, my mother-in-law will be back from holiday and during the day we want to finish moving the things from her garage and garden. But we can only do so, when the time plan for the festival has finished.
We just feel a little bit stressed...
Martin is working on php right now, I can't do much to help him. Let's run some frustrations away, before it gets too hot again. I'll be so glad when this all is over...
Früher habe ich nur (niederländischer) Früchtetee getrunken. Das hat sich geändert seit ich eine Freundin in China habe, die ein paar Mal hier in den Niederlanden war. Ich fand heraus, dass Chinesischer Tee ganz anders schmeckt. Das ist natürlich logisch, aber wenn man nur den niederländischen Tee kennt, ist man halt nicht anders gewohnt und denkt auch nicht darüber nach. Ich habe damals viel Chinesischen grünen Tee getrunken. Im Jahre 2005 habe ich zum ersten Mal deutschen Tee getrunken (in Köln, beim KusS). Das war mal wieder ganz, ganz anders. Der Früchtetee aus Deutschland ist zehnmal so stark als den Früchtetee aus Holland. Komisch, ich dachte Früchtetee ist Früchtetee, da gibt es nicht so viele Unterschiede. Das erste Mal gefiel es mir schlecht, weil ich keinen dunklen Tee gewohnt war. Aber ich habe mich daran gewöhnt. Der niederländische Früchtetee mag ich mittlerweile gar nicht mehr, die verschiedene Früchtetees hier schmecken alle gleich. Zum Glück scheine ich nicht die Einzige zu sein, denn in den Niederlanden ist in den letzten Jahren das Angebot der Kategorie "Kräutertee" gigantisch gewachsen. Seitdem trinke ich Rooibos, Kamille und auch mal wieder grüner Tee mit Giseng. Außerdem gibt es undefinierbare Teesorten wie der Tee "Morgenmelange", der ich übrigens ganz gerne mag. Die Packung sagt, es ist ein Tee mit dem man ruhig den Tag anfangen kann. Laut Ingredienzien trinke ich Erdbeer, Brombeere, Pfefferminz, Zitrone, Fenchel, Stiefmütterchen (ein dreifarbiges Veilchen), Schafgarbe, Goldblume und noch ein paar Kräuter die sich schwer übersetzen lassen - das alles zusammen sollte frisch sein und den Trinker erquicken. Aus Deutschland mag ich die dunkle Früchtetees, aber nur, wenn ich etwas starkes brauche. Noch lieber trinke ich Teesorten wie z.B. Banane-Kleeblüten von Meßner, der auch einen undefinierbaren Namen hat: Momente des Glücks. Das nächste Mal, das ich in Deutschland bin, werde ich einen Vorrat Glück einkaufen. Warum ich diesen Text schreibe? Weil ich schon ganz lange keinen deutschen Blogeintrag geschrieben habe und weil wir am Samstag einen kleinen Tee-Laden entdeckt haben, mit vielen verschiedenen Teesorten die noch viel undefinierbarer sind. Jetzt trinke ich "Orientalische Liebe" und "Zaubererskraut"! Keine Ahnung was ich genau trinke, denn die Packung verrät auch nichts, aber es schmeckt gut und es sieht gut und gesund aus. --- Man kann und darf diesen Text übrigens auch als Blindtext nutzen ;) ---
I'm having a little holiday! Because of Queens Day (30. 4), Ascension Day (1. 5) and Liberation Day (5. 5), and because I'm working part-time, I'm having a whole week off. Finally enough time for many things we have to do. Although, enough time? I can never have enough time. But we spend our time very sufficiently so far. On Queens Day we skipped all the celebrations in town and we helped Remco in his new house (it still isn't finished haha). More painting and more wallpapering - but now he finally started the laminate flooring. Ascension Day we spend in the garage of my mother-in-laws old house. Some people were coming over to have a look at the sailing boat. We had to sell it this month, else we would have a little problem. They liked the boat, bought it and took it immediately. That's one thing less to worry about. On the picture you can see the boat still hanging on the ceiling and you can also see the rest of the things we have to tidy up and move. To be honest: It's already pretty empty on the picture. We'll cope...
So that was Thursday. On Friday we had time to do some things for the festival and I went to Utrecht, because one of my friends has moved and celebrated a house warming party. On Saturday my sister and her boyfriend visited us, because they hadn't been able to be here at Martins birthday. Because of the beautiful weather, we went out and showed them how to hunt for caches. We found a huge travel bug (read more), which was coming from Hannover. We've never seen a travel bug so big and heavy. It was at least 5 kilos. As it was lying there for 1,5 month already, we decided to take it with us and we will hide it again later, somewhere, so it can continue his journey to the North pole, because that's its goal. We carried it one by one, because it was pretty heavy! Of course, you can also make funny pictures with such a travel bug:
Today I started the day with running, because after quitting volleyball I started running again (Quäl dich fit...). I did 4.5 km within half an hour. Not bad. But not spectacular either ;) I want to train myself to do 10 km within an hour, but I'm not sure if I'll succeed. We'll see.
I planned to do some things for the festival today, but the weather is so good... I want to go out again! I want to read a book in the sun with a cold drink, or make another walk in the forest! Well, maybe I can make myself to work for an hour or two, and then reward myself with the sun... Enjoy the day!
What a beautiful day! Warm and sunny, it felt like summer! Together with my sister-in-law Nadine, we went out to hunt some caches around Gronau in Germany. It was great to be there and discover nice places to walk. Today, we also met Nadine's new guinea pig. I love her new pet, because it's just so ugly and weird. Judge for yourself.
Her name is Swiffer, because you could mop the floor with her. Of course, we would never do that, but it is possible! ;)
A couple of years ago, Martin kept telling me he wanted to be a daddy when he was 30. He changed his mind, as you could see - addition to the family will probably happen one day, but not yet!
Martins 30th birthday was last Friday and our nephew Stephan visited us and also spent the night at our place. We felt a little bit like a small family! Stephan is so cute. He's an easy boy to handle and he is almost always happy. We found out he doesn't like peanut butter and he also doesn't like the slide in the playground. But he loves to play with us and with his ball and he observed our guinea-pig very cautiously. He also likes to squash peas and throw them on the floor. He can come over more often!
"Tell me, why are you applying for this internship?" I asked a dozen times today. I had 12 job interviews and now I've got a headache ;) But it was fun though. I remembered being a student and applying for an internship myself (seven years ago! I'm getting older....) - how nervous I was and how exciting it was! Today, on the other side of the table, I felt 100% relaxed and I sometimes felt a little sorry for seeing the young girls (nope, no boys at all) sweating and searching for the right answers.
And now, Wednesday evening, my weekend has already started!! Not without reason: Tomorrow afternoon we'll visit my brother, because he will take his doctoral degree at the university. I've got to be dressed properly, common clothes like jeans are not allowed... hmmm... help!! I don't know what to wear! On Friday it's Martins 30th birthday! Partytime!!
I just got home from work and found 22 new messages in my personal mailbox and 6 in my festival mailbox. Luckily the 28 messages were quickly ordered into 12 not really important ones which could be deleted pretty quickly, 10 informing ones which can be filed after reading, and 6 important ones which need an answer quickly. Besides mail, I want to finish two big cappella reports for my website and I want to select and edit the pictures I made during the Basix concert. Don't worry, I won't get bored!
But first, I've got to do the dishes. And that will be the last thing I do today. I'm totally done for today! Good night :)
I'm about to leave the house to play my very, very, very last volleybal game. It will be the last game for me, because I'll quit playing after this season. I feel relieved actually. But first, I have to find some energy to get through the next couple of hours. The past few days were too full and I definitely didn't get enough sleep... tomorrow and Sunday won't be different. I could use some free hours to catch up with my e-mail and to write a concert report (I saw BaSix this week)... but I guess I'll have to do it after the game tonight. I hope I'll be home soon and I wish I can finish my "to-do-list" before 23.00 tonight... Tomorrow will be fun though: Festival for vocal ensembles, with (again!) BaSix during the Afterparty :) I just hope I can enjoy it without continuous yawning... ;)
As I told you before, a lot of people around us are moving / about to move. Martin and I are splitting up today. Martin is laying a laminate flooring in his mothers new apartment and I'm going to paint some walls in Remco's new home this afternoon. Concerning our own search for a house: Martin and I found another house which we want to visit next week, but to be honest I'd rather not buy a house yet. The coming two months are really busy, because of the upcoming festival and I don't see how moving should fit in. It would be perfect to buy a house in June or July or later this year.... but what happens if we find the house of our dreams now? *worry* Have a nice weekend!! :) PS: I'd like to thank Dennis and Linlin, for moving without needing our help. When's the house warming party with traditional Chinese food!?? ;)
I pretty much loved this weekend :) We finally had some time to relax, we had time to go to the cinema (saw the movie "10.000 BC"), we had time for a long Easter-breakfast on Sunday, we had time to fill in the tax return papers (okay, didn't really enjoy that, but it has to be done) and we had time to visit friends: Siny celebrated her birthday, Dennis and Linlin are in the middle of moving and showed us their new home, Remco is going to move as well and we helped him remove old wallpaper, my mother-in-law got the key of her new home last week, so we also visited her. We also made a little tour in our car through Hengelo to watch some houses which might be interesting for ourselves, because we also want to move this year. There are so many houses for sale. But our demands are pretty high, so it might take a while before we find that particular house we love. To continue the moving-story: My sister will be moving this summer. And my grandmother in August. In 2007 two other relatives (from that part of the family) already moved.
So, instead of searching for eggs, we've been searching and visiting houses. And we will do the same during the next weeks/months. Plus helping Remco move, plus helping my mother-in-law move. And when we find our house, they can help us in return ;)
Soms heb je een luxe-probleem. Zoals afgelopen weekend, waarin ik kon kiezen tussen een weekendje Landal met het ene groepje vriendinnen, of een weekendje Center Parcs met het andere groepje vriendinnen. Het werd het eerste, puur omdat dit weekendje weg al langer vaststond dan het andere. Helaas dus zonder tropisch zwembad, maar wel met "Alles is Liefde" op DVD. En hoewel ik niet van Nederlandse films hou en deze dus ook nog niet gezien had, was hij toch wel erg leuk. Winkelen met dit keer maar liefst drie zwangere vrouwen (neehee, ik niet) is ook een belevenis op zich. Je ziet heel wat meer cafeetjes (omdat ze zo vaak moeten plassen) en ik ben weer helemaal op de hoogte van de laatste mode in de positiekleding. Verder gebeurt er bijzonder weinig in zo'n weekend, want er moet natuurlijk veel uitgerust en bijgekletst worden. Gourmetten hoort er ook altijd bij. Is dat eigenlijk iets typisch Nederlands? 't Is eigenlijk wel idioot, om je eten te laten verpieteren in van die kleine pannetjes, waarbij er altijd de discussie ontstaat wie de plek heeft waar dat ding het heetste is, en waar je vlees dus als eerste gaar is. De pannenkoeken worden ook nooit mooi, en toch eet je ze op. We zijn een raar volkje...
En hoe kun je zo'n relaxed weekend het beste afsluiten? Door op maandagochtend weer naar huis te rijden, je spullen te droppen, vervolgens naar kantoor van Martin te rijden voor een heuse "lunchdate" en daarna aan het begin van de middag samen naar Bonn te rijden om de files voor te zijn. Toevallig hou je daardoor bergen tijd over, waardoor je nog even leuk kunt geocachen in Bonn. Daarbij haal je een nieuw record in "distance extremes", want zover van huis had je nog nooit gecacht. Als het dan tijd is, ga je in de rij staan bij het Pantheon, waar het steeds drukker en drukker wordt, totdat de deur open gaat en je een prachtig plaatsje in dit ontzettend lieve theatertje vind. Nog even wachten en dan geniet je ruim twee uur van de allerleukste a cappella groep die je kent.
...und wenn man nachts im Bett liegt, dann ist man richtig platt... Mach mal langsam, nimm dir Zeit, dich auszuruhn. Mach mal langsam, sei bereit, mal nix zu tun... Das ist Luxus...
"Egal, ist beides gut!" schrieb mir Lena als Antwort auf meine SMS, in der ich mich darüber verwunderte, dass wir gerade Karten für Noah war ein Archetyp in die Hand gedrückt bekommen hatten, statt Karten für Achillesverse. Vielleicht zeigt es die Fülle meines Kopfes in diesen Tagen... Oder ich bin irgendwie gräßlich vergesslich. Oder, und das ist eher beruhigend, wie eine Stefanie im Gästebuch auf bodowartke.de schreibt, es ging nicht nur uns so, es lag sicher daran das im Tourplan auch erst Achillesverse stand und es irgendwann zwischendurch mal geändert wurde.
Egal, wir sehen Bodo Wartke zum ersten Mal live! Auch Bodo fällt es nicht leicht, mehrere Programme nebeneinander zu spielen. Deswegen hat er ein kleines Notizbuch dabei, in dem er immer wieder schauen kann, welches Lied als nächste dran ist.
Die neuen Lieder über Frauen, die Tiergedichte, die Ödipus-Episoden, es war alles genial. Wir haben viel und laut gelacht. Ich liebe seinen Humor, die Kreativität, die Wortwitze und Zwischenreime. Er ist absolut ein sehr talantierter Klavierspieler und hat heute gezeigt auch schauspielerische Qualitäten zu haben.
Natürlich freuten wir uns schon auf das Liebeslied, weil wir tierisch gespannt waren auf Bodos Reaktion auf unser JA!!-Geschrei, nach der Frage ob es Holländer im Saal gibt. Für die Nicht-Bodo-Kenner:
[gesungen]Ik wil het in alle talen met je delen, op alle instrumenten voor je spelen, kwelen. Nou weet ik echt: Ik hou van jou.
[gesprochen]Ja, wenn man sowas hört, denkt man sich doch: Mann, was müssen die Holländer für’n Spaß haben! Ich würde da spontan reagieren mit: „Ja, pass mal auf, ich haue zurück!“ Ich weiß ja nicht... Haben wir Holländer hier heute abend?
Er hat sich wirklich erschrocken als wir uns gemeldet haben, das Saallicht wurde sofort angemacht und wirklich alle Leute im Saal starrten uns an hahahaha. Bei meinem Sitznachbar klang auch ein "Hä??" *g* und Bodo hat uns überrascht und fröhlich angeguckt und gelacht. Er hat sich dann entschuldigt und irgendetwas wie "oh, so unbequem" genuschelt, haha. Und er hat weitergesungen:
Wo immer du auch wohnst, welche Sprache du auch sprichst, wenn wir uns begegnen, dann lern’ ich.... Holländisch. (statt "dann lern' ich sie für dich" und wobei er eigentlich "Holländich" sang, sonst reimt es sich natürlich nicht)

Als ich heute in einer E-Mail an einem deutschen Chor einmal Nominativ, dreimal Dativ und dreimal Genitiv benutzte, musste ich plötzlich an Bastian Sick denken und seine Bücher, die ich übrigens immer noch nicht zu Ende gelesen habe. Einen sinnvollen Beitrag zu schreiben schaffe ich heute nicht mehr, ich wollte nur kurz melden, dass es mir ein bisschen besser geht. Ich verteile meine Energie zwischen Arbeit und Festivalsachen, und die Kraft, die dann noch übrig bleibt verschwindet in Häusersucherei (dieses Jahr solls irgendwann klappen eine eigene Wohnung zu kaufen) und Haushalt. Leider komme ich viel zu wenig dazu, Mails zu beantworten und Kontakte, die mir eigentlich ganz wichtig sind, instand zu halten *seufz*. So gibt es noch eine Mail mit dem Betreff "Neujahrsgrüße und so", die ich schon seit zwei Monaten beantworten will. Und so gibt es Blogs, die ich zwar immer noch lese, aber bei denen ich keine Zeit und Kraft finde, einen sinnvollen Kommmentar zu schreiben. Es tut mir leid :( Aber, ich mache im Moment mal öfters langsam ;) und habe seit dem WE weniger Kopfweh und bin nicht mehr so schwindlig wie z.B. letzte Woche. Übrigens habe ich keine Blutarmut, das habe ich dann doch noch checken lassen. Gut. Schon spät, ich muss ins Bett. *winke* Ich freu mich auf Montag, dann sehen wir -endlich- Bodo Wartke live!!!

Another week has disappeared, full of work and full of tiredness. Slowly I'm starting to suspect something like anaemia, because I feel dizzy and light-headed sometimes as well. "When symptoms do appear, common ones include lethargy, weakness, dizzy spells and feeling faint." Ah, that sounds like me! So I should see a doctor, but my doctor is having a holiday. Probably went skiing, just like everybody else this week, it seems... Anyway, I don't feel like seeing another doctor (read: I don't have the energy to find out how, who and where), so in the meantime I try my own recipe: Visiting an a cappella concert to charge my battery ;) It has worked before ;)
Intrmzzo positively surprised me, we really had a great evening yesterday! There'll be a report on my website soon. I'm already working on it, but I'm a bit tired actually... I made some nice pictures yesterday, although it wasn't easy. Dark stage, often black and white clothes, difficult lighting for pictures... but I've got some nice ones! :D

Genial! Großartig! Wahnsinn! Geil! Kaum in Worte zu fassen: die Wise Guys Spezialnacht war wunderschön. Muskelweh vom Klatschen, bisschen Kopfweh vom vielen Lachen, Halsschmerzen vom Singen und Jubeln, aber alles ist egal: Es war es wieder wert! Ich werde meine beste Bilder (ich habe so viele gute...) hoffentlich heute noch online stellen, mit vielleicht einem kleinen Bericht. Allerdings weiß ich nicht ob ich es hinkrieg... aber ich werde´s versuchen. In der nächsten Woche habe ich nämlich sowieso keine Zeit, es sollte also heute passieren :)
Die kleine Giraffe (mehr Infos gibt es hier) macht es auch in den Niederlanden ganz gut. Die Kinder mit denen ich arbeite, finden die Geschichte ganz toll. Was sie aber nicht wissen ist, dass ich die Geschichte natürlich nicht wirklich vorlas, aber übersetzte und ziemlich einkürzte. Die ganze Geschichte ist viel zu lang und umfangreich für sie, und auf Deutsch hatte ich wahrscheinlich sowieso kein Erfolg gehabt ;)
Bei der ersten Hälfte des Buches hörten sie aufmerksam zu. Dann haben wir Giraffen gebastelt, aber die dürften sie nur noch Gelb malen. Denn die Giraffe hatte ihre Punkte verloren! Am nächsten Tag, nach der zweiten Hälfte des Buches, waren sie alle froh, dass sie doch auch noch braune Punkte drauf malen dürften - denn eine Giraffe ohne Punkte war doch keine fertige Giraffe.
Das Endergebnis:
Schade ist es aber, dass ich das supertolle Horbuch nicht benutzen kann. Obwohl das Affengeschrei wahrscheinlich für alle Kinder in der Welt lustig klingt. Na, vielleicht versuche ich es einfach mal... und dann berichte ich in ein paar Wochen darüber wie gut die Kinder jetzt schon Deutsch reden ;)

Besser gesagt, das Wochenende ist schon wieder halb rum! Wo bleibt die Zeit? Wie oft habe ich schon gesagt, dass ich gerne ein bisschen mehr davon hätte? Vor allem Freizeit, davon hätte ich gerne eine ganze Menge. Wo ist die Zeit geblieben, wenn ich in einem Tag ein ganzes Buch lesen konnte, Abends mehrere TV-Programme anschauen konnte (egal wie schlecht sie waren) und mein Haus immer ordentlich war?
Mein Schädel fühlt sich an wie ein Atomkraftwerk.... voller Gedanken über Arbeit, Freizeitbeschäftigung und unsere künftige Umzugspläne. Häufig Kopfweh... viel zu oft müde... Nein, eigentlich gehts mir gar nicht so ganz gut. Ich bin einfach nicht zufrieden und möchte mal wieder mehr Zeit für mich selbst haben und das tun, was ich auch wirklich gerne tue.
Was ist von meinen Plänen geworden, das Deutsch Zertifikat beim Goethe Institut zu erwerben? Wann werde ich endlich meine A Cappella Fanseite überarbeiten können? Wann spiele ich endlich wieder Gitarre? Und wann singe ich endlich wieder in einem Chor?
Aber die Antwort ist schon da! Ab nächsten Sommer!! Naja, ist natürlich abhängig von unseren Umzugsplänen und wann ein Umzug genau stattfinden wird. Aber ich glaube, ab Juni werde ich eine ganze menge mehr Zeit haben.
Denn 1) ich werde mit dem Volleybal aufhören, weil es mir im Moment zu viel Zeit kostet und leider meistens stattfindet auf Momenten die mir nicht gut passen. Stattdessen möchte ich mal wieder Joggen gehen - bleibt nur die Frage ob ich dafür genug Selbstdisziplin habe, eine Frage die ich wohl nächstes Jahr beantworten kann. Meinen Teamkamaradinnen waren nicht so ganz glücklich mit dieser Nachricht und haben mich gefragt nochmals ernsthaft zu überlegen. Und 2) ich werde im nächsten Jahr nicht wieder das Festival organisieren, weil es mir auf diese Art und Weise zu wenig Spaß macht. Manche Leute kennen die Geschichte... Und, obwohl es mir unglaublig leid tut, 3) ist die Arbeit für Montezuma Fanzone schon beendet, weil Montezuma´s Revenge, wie ihr alle wisst, leider nicht mehr existiert...
Fast auf einmal werden alle meine Freizeitsbeschäftigungen bei denen ich irgendwelche Verpflichtungen habe, weg sein. Und das tut gut. Glaube ich. Zumindest fühlt die Entscheidung für die 1) und 2) im Moment richtig gut, und ich freue mich jetzt schon auf Zeit für die Dingen, die ich jetzt nicht tun kann.
Es wird also noch 4 Monaten geben, in denen ich viel zu tun habe. Da muss ich durch. Danach wird es sicherlich auch viel zu tun geben, aber wenigstens gibt es dann Neues. Neuen Wahlen, um genau das zu tun was mir am Besten passt :) *erleichtert aufatme*
After reading the book (part 1), we'll see the movie tonight :) I like fantasy stories like this and I'm curious what the movie will be like. I've been searching the internet for information about this fantasy world and I've found a test to discover my deamon (my soul and best friend). I got my new camera on Wednesday and we've been making a lot of test-pictures already. I promised some spectacular pics, but it's hard to make them when there is nothing spectacular to make pictures of ;) The weather is cloudy and rainy and dark and even inside the house it seems to be dark all the time. But, the supermacro is nice:
The zoom function (12x optical zoom) is also stunning, although I doubt it will be usable during concerts, because it will be hard not to make shaky, unsharp pictures with full zoom. I guess I need a gorilla pod ánd a balcony rail ;)
Anyway, we'll test concert pictures later...
Another cool function on the camera is the "color accent" with which you can make black and white pictures with one color accent. Little demonstration:
That's all for now concerning the "spectacular pics" ;) I want to read the advanced camera user guide (200 pages...) and I'll keep practising and experimenting so I hope I can show you more spectacular pics later.
a cappella fans in Nederland! Heb je even een momentje voor de Wise Guys? :)
Bij onze Oosterse a cappella vrienden wordt vanaf vandaag afgeteld naar 15 februari, want dan komt het nieuwe album van de Wise Guys uit: "FREI!" Op de website van de Wise Guys wordt hier uitgebreid aandacht aan besteed. Op een speciale nieuwspagina vind je alle informatie rondom het nieuwe album. De echte fan kijkt zeker vanaf vandaag dagelijks naar de laatste updates. Van tracklist tot beschrijving van de nummers tot geluidsfragmenten, beetje bij beetje wordt de sluier opgelicht.
Daarnaast heb ik nog wat concertkaartjes "in de aanbieding"! Maandag 17 maart 2008 - Pantheon in Bonn Vier kaarten heb ik weten te bemachtigen. De vier concerten in het zeer geliefde Pantheon waren wederom binnen een half uur uitverkocht. Vrije plaatskeuze maakt het wel wenselijk om op tijd in het theater aanwezig te zijn (uiterlijk half 7), alhoewel je bijna overal goed zit in het gezellige, knusse theatertje. Donderdag 13 november 2008 - Stadthalle in Osnabrück Voor deze avond heb ik vijf kaarten op het balkon. Wie heeft er zin om op één van beide avonden met Martin en mij mee te gaan?
Mocht je trouwens, net als ik, geen flauw idee hebben wie je favorite Wise Guy is, en maakt het je ook eigenlijk helemaal niets uit, dan is het toch nog steeds leuk om met deze knutselpagina je favorite Wise Guy te vinden.
Nog iets, vooral leuk voor de 8 personen die in november mee waren naar het concert in Wesel: Op Youtube zijn twee nieuwe filmpjes te vinden (uiteraard geheel illegaal gefilmd door iemand...) van de nieuwe nummers Deutschlehrerin en Es ist nicht immer leicht. Uiteraard in de belabberde kwaliteit zoals iedereen van dit soort filmpjes gewend is.
Ik hoop op veel respons hieronder, want anders blijk ik toch de enige Wise Guys fan in Nederland te zijn ;)
Nice, isn't it? I've been wanting a new digital camera for a long time already, but today we decided which one it will be. After comparing some Panasonics, Canons and Kodaks, I concluded the Canon Powershot S5 IS will be mine. Is this a "once a Canon, always a Canon"-phenomenon? I only need a little patience before I can hold it in my hands. For some reason "available" doesn't mean "available right now", and therefor I can't get it today. But it's been ordered and paid for already and hopefully I can show you some spectacular pics within a week.
If you ever need to feel happy, you should watch Enchanted. This movie is sweet, totally over-acted and really funny. Best to watch with friends :) Happy feeling afterwards garanteed. Short summary: Fairy-tale princess, prince and bad witch end up in the real world in New York.
There should be a picture here of Martin and me at midnight on New Years Eve, but my sister can't figure out how to download her pictures from her camera and that's why there's no picture. Sorry. But still, a happy new year to all of you! We had nice celebrations during the past two weeks. New Years Eve we celebrated with my parents and family. On Christmas day we were with Martins mother, his sister and her boyfriend, and we celebrated the day with presents and too much food. The day after Christmas, it was the first birthday of my little nephew. He's absolutely adorable and as soon as he sees a camera he starts to smile. But we managed to make some pictures of him where he is not smiling ;)
We also spent some days at Center Parcs, a place to relax and spend the days sleeping, swimming, reading, going out for dinner and watching movies. It's great to be there, without computer and internet, and not being able to 'work'.
But the happy new year has really started today, as I managed to gather tickets for the Wise Guys in the Pantheon theater in Bonn!!!!!! I don't know how fast the four concerts for March were sold out this time (last time, I didn't succeed), but I read something about "within 9 minutes". Anyway, we'll be there this time!! I can hardly believe it... :D
After getting home from work a little early, I decided to face the icy cold outside and make some pretty pictures. Within 30 minutes I got back home, because my fingers were frozen. But here are some of the results:

So. Jetzt reicht's! Ich bin böse und muss mal klagen. Erinnert ihr euch noch daran, dass ich mich tierisch darüber gefreut habe, dass wir (die Festivalorganisation) eine große Anzeige im Magazin des Chorverbands NRW stellen konnten? Danach gings schlechter: die Person, die sich um die Anzeige und den Sponsor kümmerte, hat sich um gar nichts gekümmert und hat über ganz viele Sachen gelogen. Ich musste plötzlich am allerletzen Tag Himmel und Hölle in Bewegung setzen um die Anzeige rechtzeitig fertig zu haben. Alles hat noch geklappt, jetzt ist die Anzeige drin aber weil meine angebote Hilfe nicht akzeptiert wurde, sind jetzt ganz viele Grammatikfehler drin und hört der Text sich total doof an. Guck mal hier (2. Seite) und sag mir bitte mal ehrlich, wie schlecht es ist. Und dann möchtet man gerne eine professionelle Organisation sein...... *kopfschüttel*
But before we leave, to see Montezuma tonight, Martin has to sing with Amusing. They're booked to sing in the streets and at the little Christmas market *brrrr cold*. One shop was very kind and invited them to sing inside:

Today will be a day to remember. Tonight will be the final show of Montezuma's Revenge. I'm looking forward to it so much! But on the other hand, I'm a little bit sad. The group has been part of my life as long as I can remember. Some periodes they were less present, other periodes they were almost part of my daily life. But Montezuma has always been there! I'll miss them after today... Last Sunday we had a great fanclubday. All went well and everybody had a fantastic day. For many people it was a good bye already. It was also a day to remember. But tonight will be special and fun and weird and I still don't fully realise it's really over after today. The Netherlands without Montezuma's Revenge - what's left in the Dutch a cappella world? There's Rock4, that's it. There are no other professional groups coming close to the level of Montezuma. None. Ok, I shouldn't forget Intrmzzo, they're a Dutch group (with one German member). But unfortunately they don't do a lot of shows in the Netherlands. I'll probably go and see them in a couple of months though. I must be glad living close to Germany - we can enjoy lots of professional a cappella there. Wise Guys, Maybebop, Kontrollöre, LaLeLu, etc. But Germany is so big and these groups don't perform closeby very often. Without Montezuma, how harsh it might sound, there'll be "space" in the Netherlands for foreign groups to perform here. The popularity of BaSix from Denmark is growing and they'll be in the Netherlands more often. But it might be the right time for other groups to enter and conquer the Netherlands as well ;) Please, come over here, I need a cappella!
*prust* Es ist immer lustig wenn Deutschen meinen Nachnamen mit einem "ö" schreiben *gg* aber in den Niederlanden kennt man gar kein "ö" und schreibt man meinen Namen doch wirklich mit einem "oe". Und dieses "oe" hört sich genau so an wie das deutsche "u" in Schumacher. Alles klar? ;)
Denkt man übrigens wirklich, dass ich meine Mails mit einem falschen Namen unterschreibe? hahaha
Mit so viel Adrenalin von gestern, muss heute alles klappen!! :) Es war ein total schöner Tag, der Fanclubtag von Montezuma's Revenge. Das einzige "Problem" das es jetzt gibt, ist, dass ich schon wieder Halsschmerzen habe... aber die nehme ich gerne in Kauf! OK, es gibt für mich eine jede menge Arbeit zu tun heute, let's get started!
Es klappt alles nicht... dass was ich heute tun will, gelingt mir nicht und ich bin immer noch müde und erkältet und fühle mich mies!
Ich habe gerade ein bisschen im Internet rumgestöbert und eine Aussage gefunden, die mir heute ganz gut passt: "Wenn ich nicht will, dass es mir schlecht geht, muss ich mir selbst Gutes tun. Und manchmal eben mehr als zu anderen Zeiten. Geht es Dir besonders sch.... - tu Dir besonders viel Gutes." Danke Ursel, du hast volkommen Recht! Ich soll mir selbst Gutes tun. Wenn ich nur wusste, was für Gutes... hat jemand eine Idee? Erst mal eine Runde schlafen... vll hilft das schon.
Edit: Vielleicht hilft es ja, wenn ich Karten für Bodo Wartke bestelle. Ich hatte schon vor ein paar Wochen entdeckt, dass er in März in der Nähe spielen wird, und mittlerweile steht bei 'Kontakt' endlich auch eine Telefonnummer auf der Seite, also rufe ich mal an:
Ich: Am 10. März tritt Bodo Wartke bei Ihnen auf und ich möchte... Sie unterbricht mich: Wer tritt bei uns auf? Ich: Bodo Wartke. Sie: Kenne ich nicht. Ich: Oh... (jetzt bin ich ein bisschen verzweifelt) aber ich möchte gerne Karten bestellen. Sie: Ich habe keine Karten. Ich: Oh... (mittlerweile bin ich ganz verzweifelt ob ich überhaupt die richtige Telefonnummer angerufen habe) Sie: Moment, meine Kollegin... blabla... ah, die Karten kommen noch. Ist ja auch erst in März (und sie lächelt).
Ok, klappt ja auch nicht. Ist ja klar, heute ist nicht mein Tag. Aber seit wann ist man zu früh wenn man Karten kaufen möchte für ein Konzert, das schon in 3 Monaten stattfinden soll? *g* *seufz*
Today we celebrated Sinterklaas with our friends in Hengelo. There was a lot of candy, but more important: there were lots of presents ;)

The presents were often accompanied with self-written poems. That's part of the Dutch tradition of celebrating Sinterklaas. And of course, they must be read out loud.
Although I'm still not feeling too well, it was a very nice afternoon/evening and we had a lot of fun. I'm just a little tired now. Let's go to bed early tonight.
Ist es das übervolle Wochenende gewesen? Oder sind es die hustenden und erkälteten Kinder auf der Arbeit? Oder der superstressvolle Montag auf dem die teuere Anzeige für das Chor live Magazin des Chorverbands NRW sich plötzlich noch nicht fertig ergab und ich auf einmal Himmel und Hölle in Bewegung setzen musste um die richtigen Personen an die Arbeit zu machen, obwohl das gar nicht mein Aufgabe war?
Aber das Wochenende war geil. Ich arbeite im Moment daran, Konzertberichte zu schreiben, aber ich sitze schon ein paar Stunden beim Computer und die Folge ist Kopfweh (das fehlte noch)... Die Kinder könnten die Ursache sein... es gab vor allem am Dienstag der ganze Tag ein Hustkonzert auf der Arbeit. Der Montag hat aber auch nicht dazu beigetragen dass ich mich jetzt besser fühle. Über die Sache ist das letzte Wort noch nicht gesagt. Die E-Mail mit den beruhigenden Wörter "Es hat noch alles super geklappt. Ihre Anzeige ist drin!" war sehr nett und lässt mich wieder ruhig atmen, aber wie es dazu gekommen ist.......
Wie mies ich mich jetzt auch fühle, ich habe Sonntag ein tolles Wise Guys Konzert erlebt und es gibt zum Glück noch genug tolle Nachwirkungen :D Wenn ich die Augen schließe und daran zurückdenke, fühle ich mich schon wieder ein bisschen besser. Wenn ich nur die Gedanken in Wörter umsetzen könnte und mein Bericht fertig schreiben könnte... Ich brauche aber erst eine Pause. Und Tee. Und Hustensaft. Und Paracetamol.
Never! :P Yesterday as "stage manager" during the Vocal Light Top Festival in Apeldoorn I heard 16 different a cappella groups in a competition for small a cappella groups with 3 - 9 singers. Because of that, I missed more than 50 other groups, among them the bigger a cappella choirs, the amplified groups and the huge pop choirs. Anyway, I had a great day and heard many beautiful songs!! In the evening I skipped the free dinner to be able to see and hear the BaSix soundcheck. Some people had to make sure nobody would enter while BaSix was soundchecking. Of course Martin and I volunteered for this job ;) And because everybody was having dinner, it was a very easy job and we could enjoy the soundcheck. Nice guys with beautiful voices! After the soundcheck we quickly managed to find something to eat, just before the evening programm started. During the show, the winners of the different competitions were declared and they were allowed to sing one song. The BaSix show afterwards was great! I really loved it. It was too short, if you ask me ;)
I've had a good night sleep now - I was pretty tired yesterday! But the a cappella fever is not over yet. Today we'll go to Wesel to see the Wise Guys, with ten people from the Netherlands!
Global GPS Cache Hunting, geocaching - a new hobby.

To let everybody know it is now possible to subscribe to our festival, I needed to send some emails to some choirs. The list of email addresses has grown to 1500 in the past two years. I started this morning at half past 9 and soon found the following message popping up:
"Exceeded maximum numbers of emails send per hour"
Ok... didn't know that was possible. Luckily there is the possibility to change your outgoing name and address when sending email and luckily it was not my IP address being blocked. With three different email addresses, I multiplied the maximum numbers of emails send per hour by three. With only 279 emails left to send now, the following message pops up:
"You have reached your message sending limit for the day"
Hahaha, I guess that's it for today. Don't expect any more messages (by mail) from me ;)
Ich habe gerade das Chorverband NRW angerufen und ohne stammeln (yeah!!) meine Frage gestellt. Leider habe ich noch keine konkrete Antwort, denn nachdem die Frau, die ich gesprochen habe, mit ihrer Cheffin überlegt hatte, bekam ich die Antwort ich sollte meine Frage schriftlich stellen und mein Brief wird dann weitergeleitet und der Vorstand wird sich dann überlegen usw. usw. Die deutsche Bürokratie? Ich weiß aber jetzt, was ich heute noch tun muss.
Es gibt noch etwas tolles zu erzählen. "Wir" (als Festivalorganisation) werden im Magazin des Chorverbands (Chorlive) eine ganz große Anzeige stellen! Meiner "Kollege" hat einen Sponsor gefunden und ich habe ein schönes Angebot beim Verlag bekommen (nochmals yeah!!). Ich hoffe, dass alles klappt, denn den Entwurf der Anzeige musste ich weitergeben, aber es soll schon nächste Woche zugeschickt worden sein!
Ich kenne mich mittlerweile immer besser aus mit der deutschen schriftlichen Höfflichkeit und dem "Siezen". Diese Höfflichkeit kennt man in den Niederlanden eigentlich nicht so wirklich. Ich finde es aber ganz lustig, mit "sehr geehrte Frau Schoenmaker" angesprochen zu werden, und werde selber auch immer kreativer, höffliche Antworten aus zu denken (Ich freue mich über unsere Zusammenarbeit und wünsche Ihnen einen schönen Tag)!
Warum ist ausgerechnet heute Feiertag in Deutschland? Hier in den Niederlanden ist Allerheiligen schon seit über 40 Jahre kein offizieller Feiertag mehr. Nur ich habe zufällig frei heute. Endlich Zeit für zu viele Sachen ;) So wollte ich den Chorverband NRW anrufen, weil ich da etwas erreichen soll (lange Geschichte). Aber als ich heute Mittag mehrmals versucht habe, an zu rufen, war niemand im Büro und hat keiner meinen Anruf beantwortet. Noch nicht mal ein Anrufbeantworter. Schade, schade, denn wann habe ich wieder Zeit für einen zweiten Versuch? Erst am nächsten Donnerstag... oder, und das ist der einzige Möglichkeit wobei es schneller gehen könnte, ich sollte am Montagmittag von der Arbeit anrufen... humpf... naja, mal sehen. Auf jeden Fall habe ich mich heute getraut an zu rufen! *g* Ist immer spannend, wenn ich Deutsch reden muss mit jemandem, dem ich nicht kenne, und dann auch noch über eine doch etwas komplizierte Sache wobei ich überzeugend sein soll und Mitarbeit bekommen möchte. Drücke mir mal die Daumen, dass es das nächste Mal klappt!
All right, let's write something. I've been busy in the past two weeks, but somehow it seems like I still haven't finished anything. I'm still working on my website, it still needs a major update, but I just can't find time to work on it. The LaLeLu-report is finished though. I'm still working on several translations for the festival "Amusing Hengelo" website, but it's progressing (too) slowly. In the meantime, I need to work of course, and in the evenings there's always something to be done, whether it's volleybal or festival business or theater visits. The weekends are full of activities as well. But, I'm not complaining :) Only the funeral yesterday should not have been there... emotionally it was a hard day for all of us, but it's the way life goes. We were both so tired. Is it stupid we went to the movies yesterday evening to relax and set our minds of things? It felt a bit weird, but we laughed a lot (Rush Hour 3, we love Jackie Chan haha). This morning I went to the theater in Apeldoorn for a big backstage tour :P In four weeks, I'll be one of the "stage managers" during a big festival there. I'm looking forward to it so much! Maybe I should find out how to clone myself, because during the festival I would love to be on three different stages at the same time... I'll be with the small a cappella groups all day, but I would love to see many other groups as well. Guess I'm going to miss them... Why did I get myself talked into this? I wanted to visit the festival as a visitor this time hahaha. No, it's great to help there and the small a cappella groups will be great. When I got home I spent some time writing e-mails to choirs in Germany, to advertise for our own "Amusing Hengelo" festival. I hope they'll respond quickly. Oops, almost half past four already. I need to leave again. My volleybal team is waiting for me. *sending a hug into the world*
What? 27th of October already?? It feels like the month's just started, but on the contrary... Just a quick note right now: I'm fine. I'll write a little more later today or tomorrow. I've got to go now, let's get an a cappella mood today in the Orpheus theater :) Bye!
It's always fun when collegues ask me how my day off was. For some reason my free time is always filled with things and activities concerning websites and music.
This morning I started working on the Amusing Hengelo Festival page. We didn't find ourselves a professional translater yet (with other words: a native German), so I decided to start the German section of the website myself. In the meantime, we keep searching, and if we find someone, he or she is welcome to correct and edit my texts. But we just need the pages in perfect German if we want to achieve our goal, which is to have a lot more choirs from Germany on our festival in 2008. So I translated the news items for a start. Maybe I'll have time to start translating the FAQ later today.
This afternoon I edited the Montezuma Fanzone website. Because the group will stop performing after 2007 some texts needed to be edited. I'm still feeling sad about the group quiting... but all good things will end someday.
Now I can choose: There are two concert reports waiting for me to be finished writing. That's - for those who lost view - for my personal a cappella website, which also needs a complete make-over if you ask me (just protecting myself from getting bored...) I can also start translating the Amusing Hengelo FAQ. I could also shut down the computer and read a book. Or do some housekeeping for a change.
I feel a little bit like Anette Dewitz, who writes on her website: "Anette, was machst du eigentlich so? - Zur Zeit filme ich viele Konzerte. - Na, so lange der Haushalt klappt!" But in my situation I would say: "Corine, was machst du eigentlich so? - Zur Zeit schreibe ich viele Texte und bearbeite ich viele Seiten. - Na, so lange der Haushalt klappt!"

Übrigens, obwohl meine RHB-Geschichte noch ganz übersichtlich ist, habe ich das Gefühl die Jungs schon viel öfter erlebt zu haben. Woran das wohl liegt? Wahrscheinlich sind die vielen Bilder und Geschichten im Internet Schuld. Ich freu mich schon aufs nächste Konzert! Wann auch immer...
Heute haben wir ziemlich spät gefrühstückt. Dann haben wir den üblichen Bilder- und Musikaustausch gemacht und noch ein bisschen LaLeLu-DVD geguckt. Und dann wars schon halb fünf und sind wir zur Rathaus gefahren. Bei der Binnenaltster haben wir etwas gegessen und dann sind wir Richtung Laeiszhalle spaziert. Natürlich waren wir viel zu früh da, aber egal - dann kann man sich wenigstens noch ein bisschen rumgucken und SMS-Berichte nach Hause schicken. Schon vor der Show haben wir Sonja getroffen, das war sehr nett. Unsere Plätze auf dem ersten Balkon waren nicht wirklich gut, aber einen Stock höher auf dem zweiten Balkon gabs ganz viele freie Plätze und da haben wir uns am Rand gesetzt. Lenas neues Stativ für die Kamera, ihr Gorillapod, war da ganz praktisch und jetzt gibt es gaaanz viele und gaaanz schöne Bilder von LaLeLu hier auf dem Rechner. Die Bilder sind zwar von oben, aber mit 10x zoom hat es wirklich super geklappt.

Jetzt fallen wir mal wieder ins Bett, Lena hat schließlich morgen Berufsschule und muss wieder fit sein. Und ich... fahre morgenfrüh wieder nach Hause. Tschüß Hamburg! Bis nächste Mal!!
So, wir sind wieder da. Was für eine Nacht. Spät oder später ist egal, deswegen blogge ich noch kurz.
Die Autofahrt war gut, das Navi-System hat funktioniert und in Cloppenburg fanden wir die Rockhouse Brothers auf einer total kleinen Außenbühne, die die ganze Zeit wackelte. Das erste Set war toll, super den Jungs mal wieder zu sehen!!
Während des zweiten Sets wurde es immer enger im Publikum und gab es immer mehr komische Typen die so betrunken um uns herum sprangen, dass wir den Spaß ein bisschen verloren. Deswegen sind wir auch vor dem letzten und dritten Set wieder nach Hamburg abgefahren. Also, leider nicht der Gig des Jahres, aber für mich trotzdem ein ganz, ganz toller Abend. Wolff (der Drummer der Gruppe) war ganz überrascht mich dort an zu treffen und ich war ganz überrascht dass er mich erkannt hatte. Folglich bin ich von Nina und Lena auch noch zur Familien eingeladen und darf ich mich jetzt eine Rockhouse Sister nennen. Geil, ne!!

Jetzt sind wir kurz zu Hause und in 15 Minuten holen Torben und Nina uns ab und fahren wir nach Cloppenburg um die Rockhouse Brothers auftreten zu sehen, wir sind ja völlig bekloppt.... (ist ja nur 180 km weit weg, also fast um die Ecke)

Tadaaa: 1 Liter Vanille-Vla, 1 Liter Apfel-Zimt-Vla, 1 Liter Birne-Vla, eine Packung Vlokken, eine Tüte Variatie Drop (süß) und eine Tüte Schokoladepepernoten sind jetzt eingekauft und werden am Samstag auf den Transport gestellt (oder besser gesagt: eingepackt und mitgeschleppt im Zug). Wer jetzt noch etwas braucht, sollte dringend Bescheid sagen ;)
After getting to bed much too late yesterday, because of the genius Bodo Wartke, I slept long and spent today watching a German Hans Liberg show which was also great. Nice discovery, this 3Sat-Mediathek.
We also started our new project "Pimp your toilet" today (to be continued) and I picked up my old hobby of making (3d) cards. Depending on how much more time I'll have for this, more people may look forward to a creative hand made christmas card, like this lovely snowman or cute bear.
I'm trying to relax and recharge for the next couple of days at work. And then.... I'll have a long weekend off, which I'm looking forward to a lot! A weekend including a visit to the second largest port city in Europe ;) where I will celebrate the end of my a cappella summer break - and that's about time!
Ich dachte, ich würde das 3Sat Festival 2007 mit 45 Minuten Wise Guys heute Abend verpassen, weil wir 3Sat nicht empfangen können. Aber das Internet bietet die richtige Lösung. Habe ich schon mal irgendwo erwähnt wie sehr ich das Internet Liebe? Man kann sich die Sendung hier jetzt schon anschauen. Geiler Auftritt, aber leider ist der Ton-Qualität nicht immer gut. Die Misschung der Stimmen ist oft nicht optimal, so ist zum Beispiel am Anfang Eddi viel zu laut und bei Schiller ist Ferenc viel zu leise. Toll ist aber, dass es jetzt eine gute Aufnahme von Relativ und Paris gibt (schöne Moderation zu Paris übrigens haha), darüber freue ich mich besonders! Ich hatte eine ganz volle und stressige Woche und diese Aufnahme ist genau das was ich brauchte! Das WE wird immer schöner - ein schönerer Start des Wochenendes kann ich mich im Moment gar nicht vorstellen ;) *freu*
The new website of our Vocal Festival Amusing Hengelo is online! :D It took Martin quite some time to get it html tidy, but now it works in both IE and FF like it's supposed to work. The texts are of my creation and I hope we are reducing the amount of e-mails with our new faq. The only thing that needs to be done is translating the most important pages into German.
Das glaubt man doch nicht.... innerhalb 30 Minuten sind alle vier Pantheonkonzerte von den Wise Guys ausverkauft! Wahnsinn. Ich habe versucht Karten zu bestellen, aber ich kam einfach nicht durch. Irgendwie hatten viele Leute auch die Idee, gerade an zu rufen ;)
Also... jetzt singe ich den ganzen Tag "du kannst nicht alles haben" und hoffe, dass ich irgendwie, irgendwann übers internet doch noch Karten bekomme. Obwohl ich mich kaum vorstellen kann, dass es Leute gibt, die ihre Pantheonkarten abgeben würden.
In den Niederlanden gibt es mehrere Gruppen die Wise Guys Lieder singen. Bei dem Den Bosch goes a cappella Festival bei dem ich in Juni war, gab es sogar mehrere Wise Guys Lieder im Programm, manche übersetzt auf Niederländisch. Ich habe mich natürlich sehr darüber gefreut. Die Wise Guys wurden mehrere Malen bei Namen genennt und das fühlte genau richtig. Kostenlose Werbung für die Wise Guys schadet nie. Es gab in den kleinen Raum nur Leute die a cappella Musik lieben und was mir vor allem beigeblieben ist, ist die gemütliche Atmosphäre des Festivals. Die Gruppen waren allen gut, manche waren sogar besser als gut und ich habe bei jedem Auftritt genossen. Jetzt gibt es zwei Mitschnitte von übersetzten Wise Guys Liedern im Internet zu hören. Für den Mittschnitt, klicke hier (funktioniert im Moment leider nur in Internet Explorer). Der Mittschitt enthaltet sieben Lieder (nicht ganzen Lieder, sondern Mitschnitte) und das fünfte und siebte Lied sollte den Wise Guys Kenner sehr bekannt vorkommen. "Brabant" wurde gesungen von einem speziell für dieses Festival zusammengestellten Männerquintett. Übrigens, Brabant ist eine Region im Süden der Niederlanden. "Venus & Mars" wurde gesungen von der Gruppe 5T, Preisträger des niederländischen Festivals für Vokal Ensembles. Für euere Beruhigung, weil ihr wahrscheinlich kein Wort versteht *g*: Die Übersetzungen finde ich wirklich klasse gemacht. Niemals hatte ich das Gefühl die Texten waren seltsam überstetzt. Es hat alles genau gepasst. Viel Spaß beim anhören!
Our traditional visit at the Shakespeare theater in Diever (NL) took place last weekend. They played "As you like it" and it was fantastic. For me it was the 13. time to see a play here. The atmosphere in the theater is indescribable, the wooden seats terrible but suitable, the play so funny and the acting really professional. Because of the nice weather we went camping for the weekend and that was great. I love the campsite there, because I have many good memories from it and it felt like a holiday again. This time, we even brought our personal cook ;) Thanks again Remco, for the bacon and eggs for breakfast!
Maybe there have been days I was a better company to the others, but I blame Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. I just couldn't stop reading... by day and at night...
The campfires on Friday and Sunday night were also really good. Pity we didn't bring marshmallows though. Although a holiday to Greece is beautiful, nothing can beat building your own campfire and sit at it all night having fun with others.
On Monday night we came back, because we had our first Amusing Hengelo Festival Organisation meeting. Today I had to work and when I came home I found 24 new e-mail messages in my mailbox, exclusive spam [sigh]. So if people are waiting for an anwser, they'll have to wait a little longer because tonight I have another appointment, tomorrow I need to work and I didn't even finish my book yet!! Real life's begun again. Holiday's over...
This week I started working again. My holiday is over... But today I had a day off (I love having a part-time job) and mainly because the work for the festival hasn't started yet, it also really felt like having a day off, because I had time. Yes, I had time! I love it when I have time. I have time to read, for instance. Right now I'm reading the fourth book within four weeks. I guess things will change quickly as soon as everything is back to normal after the school holidays.
But, because I can't read all day and because I want to do something usefull as well, I decided it was about time to tidy up my desk in the computer room. It's a pity I didn't make a "before" picture actually, so you could see the difference. It was really, really messy. I could put all the papers and stuff and mess back on the desk and make a picture of it, but then I would have done all my work for nothing. So I'm terribly sorry, but I'll give you the "after" picture only:
See the empty file holders on the right? They're empty because I bought them today hoping they'll help me to keep the desk tidy. The only thing I shouldn't do when I'm sitting at my desk right now, is looking over my shoulder to the other corner of the room. It still looks like this:
Well, there'll be time for that corner some other day. Hopefully... Tonight there's only me, my book and my cup of tea. And Martin of course, with the constant roaring of airplanes from his flight simulator which is his sign of having time ;)
Während des zweiten Sets wurde es immer enger im Publikum und gab es immer mehr komische Typen die so betrunken um uns herum sprangen, dass wir den Spaß ein bisschen verloren. Deswegen sind wir auch vor dem letzten und dritten Set wieder nach Hamburg abgefahren. Also, leider nicht der Gig des Jahres, aber für mich trotzdem ein ganz, ganz toller Abend. Wolff (der Drummer der Gruppe) war ganz überrascht mich dort an zu treffen und ich war ganz überrascht dass er mich erkannt hatte. Folglich bin ich von Nina und Lena auch noch zur Familien eingeladen und darf ich mich jetzt eine Rockhouse Sister nennen. Geil, ne!!
