I didn't feel like baking cakes today, but this looks very nice as well :) We'll have some people over tonight to celebrate my birthday, but most people are coming over next Saturday. That's the conclusion after talking to several people during the a cappella night in Lingen (Germany) last Friday. We talked to some singers from Vocaldente and after we told them we are from the Netherlands, they started asking about Montezuma's Revenge. Same happened while talking to LaLeLu. After that, a girl standing at the Viva Voce cd-table came to us, apologizing for hearing us talk about Montezuma. Montezuma's Revenge was her first a cappella group and she really missed them. We talked with her for a while then. Although we had a great night in Lingen (report will follow tomorrow!), we miss Montezuma's Revenge!!!

Christmas will be different this year. Keywords: painting, plastering, furnishing, cleaning, packing, moving, etc. I wonder if we will put a Christmas tree in the living room this year. First question will be: In which living room? We'll temporarily have two. Hmm... I know the answer: We'll decorate a tree in our GARDEN!! I fear I won't have a relaxed holiday during Christmas, because we'll be too busy. But at least I can take a BATH!! :D :D :D

Last week we saw three (!) different houses. Number 8 was very interesting, but we won't take it, because we saw number 10 which is probably even better! Number 9 was a clear no.
The search for a house continues and I'm wondering when it will stop. Maybe really soon. Maybe not. I've learned not to be too happy too soon, because visiting a house a second time can change your mind quite easily. You notice different things. Visiting so many houses does have an advantage. You learn what your preferences exactly are and how important they are. Some things we found very important in the beginning are less important now. Other preferences we found out throughout the search.

Just a short note: we visited another house today! And number 9 is scheduled for next Monday. According to the estate agent we met today, the average amount of houses people visit before buying one is about 6 or 7, so we should find a house pretty soon. Number 8 was pretty good, by the way. So good, that I just spoke to our personal professional adviser on the phone and we'll plan a second visit, together with him. Will you keep your fingers crossed for us?
Warum hat mir keiner gesagt, dass es am 3. Oktober ein toller A-Cappella-Abend stattfindet in Lingen, nur 40 Minuten fahren von Hengelo? Zum Glück gibt es die Webseite von Bodo Wartke. Nicht, dass es dort A Cappella Konzerttermine gibt, aber weil Bodo mit Viva Voce gesungen hat, gelang ich auf der Viva Voce Webseite und Viva Voce kommt nach Lingen. Genauso wie LaLeLu und Vocaldente. Wenn das kein schöner Abend wird... Karten sind schon bestellt! Ich kann es noch kaum glauben und ich hoffe, dass ich nichts übersehen habe. Vielleicht entdecke ich morgen plötzlich, dass wir am 3. Oktober schon etwas Anderes geplant hatten. Oder dass Lingen nicht 40 Minuten, sondern 4 Stunden fahren ist, weil es noch eine andere Stadt in Deutschland gibt, die Lingen heißt. Oder ... Nein, das soll nicht sein! Juhu! *freu* Es ist so schön so nah an der Grenze zu wohnen und A Cappella in zwei Ländern genießen zu können! :D
"Gibt es eigentlich schon neue Termine? Ich möchte euch gerne irgendwann mal in Deutschland auf einer kleinen Bühne erleben", schrieb ich vor zwei Wochen an Swen von Stimmrecht. Die Antwort war sehr toll, Swen schrieb: "Wir machen am nächsten Samstag bei meinen Nachbarn nachmittags um halb 4 ein "Gartenkonzert". Das ist nichts Offizielles, es kommen ein paar Leute, aber wenn Ihr uns in ganz untypischer Umgebung erleben wollt: Herzlich willkommen!" Beim Lesen freute ich mich schon riesig und Swen hat sich genau so gefreut als ich gesagt habe, dass wir nach Bottrop kommen wurden. Sedi, Dan und Tina hatten keine Ahnung, dass Swen uns eingeladen hatte. Überraschung! Gestern war's dann so weit und wir fuhren nach Bottrop. Als wir durchs Gartentor hinein kamen, haben sie sich total gefreut uns zu sehen und Swen und wir haben nur gelacht, weil die Überraschung so gut gelungen war. Das Konzert war echt toll, ganz locker und spontan, mit ein paar schiefen Tonen und lustigen Texthängern, weil sie nach dem Sommer noch fast nicht geprobt hatten. Wir haben viel gelacht und das Konzert echt genossen. Es war mal etwas ganz Außergewöhnliches, mit Nachbarn, Freunden und Familien in diesem schönen Garten, Getränke und Fingerfood dazu, und einfach mal wieder herrliche A Cappella Musik hören. Dieses Konzert bezeichne ich als die Eröffnung meiner neuen A-Cappella-Theatersaison. Jetzt geht's wieder los! :D
I've been looking around for quite some time, but now I've finally found a choir that suits me. Yesterday, during my third choir rehearsal, I had to do some vocal range tests to determine if I can sing alto. After singing several mm-mm-mm-mm's, ng-ng-ng-ng's, ni-ni-ni-ni's and na-na-na-na's, I'm officially a member of Half Past Nine now. The choir has 16 members, and they sing mainly a cappella arrangements of familiar songs. The arrangements are for at least five voices (SSATB). Right now we're rehearsing a Beach Boys song as performed by The Real Group, for instance.
By the way, it's a funny experience, to say the words "Wise Guys" and not being asked who they are! I'm among a cappella fans! And I've given up to correct my colleague, who asked me again "That's a choir without music, isn't it?". I just answered her with a simple "yes" ;)
Three rock bands from the Netherlands were playing at the market last Saturday. And with free entrance it's always fun to have a look around. We had a family party first and got home a bit late, so we missed the first group and arrived halfway the performance of L.I.N.E, a good band with nice songs. Because there was no rain tonight, I decided to test the manual mode of my camera and I liked that a lot!

The third band that night was Di-rect. In the Netherlands they are very well-known, I don't know if they are known in other countries? But I don't really like their music and it was too loud. But again, I could test the manual mode of my camera! :D

The Wall is a rock opera presented as a double album by the English rock band Pink Floyd, released in late 1979. More information on wikipedia.
Yesterday this rock opera was performed in Hengelo on a huge stage at the market place. Pink was played by Nikolas Shannon, a fantastic singer from the USA who lives in Germany. He played the character Pink in a very convincing way. The rain helped him though. Depressed, lonely and confused he sat at the edge of the stage, getting really wet and looked even more sad. A lot of people from Hengelo, some of them we know, played a role as well. The choir, the kids choir and the orchestra were from Hengelo.
The audience got pretty wet as well, but despite the rain, the market place was full of people. During the short dry period of the concert I managed to make a few pictures, like this one:

We visited "house number 7" today. According to the estate agent 7 is a lucky number. But probably not our lucky number, I think. A really nice house in a good neighborhood, but it needs too much work which makes the house too expensive. Maybe our lucky number is 8? I surely hope our lucky number is under 20...
Und weil ich gestern mal was ganz anderes tun wollte als das Suchen nach einem Haus, habe ich den ganzen Abend voller Freude mit meinem Videostudio gekämpft und ein tolles Video zusammengebastelt ;) Das wollte ich schon längst mal machen! :D
Finding a house is like climbing a huge mountain. We almost thought we reached the top of the mountain, but suddenly we were falling down. And it was a long fall... Damn!! It's actually stupid, that talking to one woman can make such a difference. We're doubting more than ever now and that means: The search goes on...
It's a bit quiet here. But a lot has happened in the past few days. We spoke to several people who advised us about different things. Today we visited the house a second time, together with our personal professional adviser, which was nice, because he really knows a lot more about houses than we do. We got to know a lot more about the house. Now we have another weekend to think things over and the next decision has to be made before Tuesday. If possible, keep your fingers crossed!
PS: Sorry for not/barely writing e-mails these days. My mind is too busy...
This weekend we stayed at "our" campsite in the north of the Netherlands. Time to think things over concerning the house we are interested in. And we had time to relax. We enjoyed the sun and we enjoyed the Shakespeare open air play in the rain. Dutch weather proved again to be very changeable! But we had a great time! Martin and I also celebrated "our 11th birthday", which was special, because it all really started at this campsite.

Now, we are back home and we contacted our financial adviser about our mortgage, another objective adviser about building a garage, the estate agent of the house to show our interest and we are probably going to look for an estate agent later this week who can negotiate about the price for us. We have also done some research on the internet and we still have a list of things we need to know before we can really make a decision. So we're pretty busy right now :) If all works out well, we might buy a house soon......
Today we might have found our new house! We like the place a lot and we have a really good feeling about it. Now, all we have to do, is to figure out some financial things, to see if our plans can succeed. For instance: what are the costs of building a garage?? Anybody any ideas? Then in this case we could build one next to the house, just like the neighbors on the other corner already did. Most of you know: we really need the garage... I'm curious if we feel just as positive after the weekend as we are feeling now. If the answer is "yes" then this house could be the one! But first, we have to pack our bags for another weekend camping with my family and (for me) the 14th visit of the Shakespeare theater. This year, they're playing MacBeth. Probably the weather will not be as good as last year, but I'm sure it'll be just as much fun! The only bad thing about it is: After this weekend, holidays are really over until Christmas.
It will be number six next Tuesday. The sixth house we'll visit. Will this be "the one"? I really, really don't know. Martin and I have said it before: "This could be the one...." and then it turned out otherwise. We'll see. My brother tried to comfort me with "We visited 16 houses before we found a good one". Sigh...
I just got invited for another balcony-barbecue-lunch tomorrow at Martins work. Do they like me joining them or do they just want me to bring them another salad? Hmmm... ;)
Why was the "cheap" house so cheap? Because they are now selling the house and the garage separately. Which is bad for us, because we want them both. This information was not yet changed on funda (funda is the main website in the Netherlands with an overview of almost all houses for sale). We've learned from it and from now on we will also check the estate agents' website as well before visiting the house. Apart from that, the house needs so much work. Not only the kitchen and bathroom need a complete make over, all the window frames need to be renewed and so on, and so on. Definitely, we don't want this house!
We'll continue searching on funda now. And I don't know how many kilometers we've been cycling through the city in the past week, just to watch houses for sale from the outside and to get to know the neighbourhood. I'm glad it's summer ;)
Tomorrow we'll see another house!! It's 45.000 euro cheaper than the one we saw yesterday. So we can easily pay it :P. But the pictures we've seen of the house are terrible. Awful kitchen and bathroom, everything is old-fashioned. I think an old person lived there and moved to a home for elderly or maybe passed away. But, with 45.000 euro you can buy a very nice new kitchen and bathroom ;) It'll just be a "little" bit more work. And there's no noisy road anywhere near the house.
In the meantime, we enjoy the nice weather, for instance at the balcony of Martins office. I just went there to join them during lunchtime. Today they decided to barbecue for lunch. Good idea! Nice job :)
Pro's: - big house - big garage - nice bathroom, nice kitchen, nice toilet, nice rooms - we like it! - we can pay it
Con's - who needs a normal toilet and a urinal in the bathroom? - will the pretty big road on the back of the house cause a lot of noise inconvenience?

Das Haus das wir jetzt ins Auge gefasst haben liegt in einer Straße mit einem deutschen Namen. Wenn ich dann irgendwann mal wieder telefonisch Karten für irgendeines Konzert in Deutschland bestellen werde, brauche ich den Straßenname fast gar nicht buchstabieren! Ob das wohl entscheidend sein wird beim eventuellen Kauf? Nächster Dienstag Besichtigung....
I thought the sun would start shining again today? But where is it? Somewhere behind a big layer of clouds... :/ It's not even trying to peek through... Looking at it positively: If it would be sunny and warm I would probably be even more frustrated not having a garden. If it would be sunny and warm, it would soon be too hot on our little balcony. The past couple of hours I've been searching the internet for houses. I want to move on now, but every house we find is too expensive, too old, too ugly, too small or in a wrong neighborhood. It's hard to be patient... Where is the sun in my head? I feel cloudy myself and I don't know how to make my sun peek through right now. It seems so impossible to find a perfect house. Can anybody cheer me up with something fun or nice, please?
On Friday, July 11th, we made plans to go camping in Luxembourg together with Remco. We left on Monday and came back last Saturday. We made beautiful walks in Luxembourg, visited Luxembourg City and we made a day trip to Paris! Planning on short notice is fun!
...und es regnet. Aber egal! Als ich heute in die Stadt fahren wollte und es regnete, habe ich den Bus genommen. Denn den gibt es hier auch noch, obwohl ich ihn fast nie nutze. Ich hatte ihn fast vergessen. Zwar ist es nicht so wie in Hamburg, wo jeder U-Bahn fast alle 2 Minuten fährt. Aber auch mit einer Frequenz von zweimal pro Stunde komme ich trocken da wo ich sein will. Und ich komme auch wieder trocken zu Hause mit einem tollen neuen Buch, und ich mache mich erstmal eine ganze Stunde gemütlich auf dem Couch. Dann beschließe ich, Schokolademarshmallows zu machen. Keine Ahnung ob das gut schmeckt, aber Martins Kollegen mögen es immer, wenn ich etwas leckeres mache ;) Das Ergebnis is süß, sehr süß und die Süßwaren stehen jetzt im Kühlschrank steif zu werden. Irgendwie habe ich während des "Backprozesses" (obwohl man die Dingen nicht im Ofen backen muss) auch eine ganze Tafel Schokolade aufgefressen *dumtidum*. Schließlich muss man einen Urlaub immer genießen, oder? Ich saß heute auch noch am Computer und habe tatsächlich angefangen meine Ideen für die neue 'A Cappella Fanseite' in einem Entwurf umzuwandeln. Das macht auch mal wieder Spaß, sich so intensiv mit Photoshop zu beschäftigen.
Es könnte also von mir aus noch ruhig ein paar Tagen regnen. Langeweile kenne ich nicht, es gibt noch viele Seiten in meinem Buch und Photoshoppen könnte ich auch noch ganz lange machen. Nur Leckeres backen ist nicht täglich möglich. Sonst werden Martin und seine nur drei Kollegen zu fett ;)

Ich zähle die Tage...nur noch fünf Tage arbeiten, und dann drei Wochen Urlaub! Ich freue mich schon riesig darauf! Endlich Zeit für Alles! (naja... Alles?).
In den letzten Tage hat die Aufräumerei hier zu Hause angefangen. Und das, ohne Räum dein Zimmer auf! *notizmach* Jan eine E-Mail schicken, dass er mir die CD mitbringt. Es wäre eigentlich schön, wenn wir das Haus komplett aufgeräumt hätten, bevor der Urlaub anfängt. Das heißt, ich werde die CD in zwei Wochen anhören und denken "räum dein Zimmer auf? Nein, tue ich nicht! Ist schon ordentlich aufgeräumt! :D"
Ich nimm mir im Moment außerdem Zeit, mal wieder ein spannendes Buch zu lesen, neuen Blumen für den Blumenkasten auf dem Balkon zu kaufen und ausführlich die Werbeblätter und Zeitung zu lesen. Das gefällt mir gut. Bevor der Urlaub anfängt gibt es noch eine Hochzeit (die zweite dieses Jahres) zu der wir eingeladen sind, die Diplomüberreichung meiner fertigstudierten Mutter bei der ich Fotografin 'spielen' darf und einer Grillparty (auch die zweite dieses Jahres), diesmal mit meinen Kolleg(inn)en. Und die zwei freie Tage die ich zwischendurch auch noch haben werde, sind leicht zu füllen. Wird es eigentlich irgendwann eine Zeit geben, in der ich ohne "todo-Liste" leben kann?
This afternoon I went to the city center to see some acts at the Street Theater Festival. Ramana was pretty stunning at first sight:
But there must be a logical explanation for this levitating in the sky. The theory in the audience: there's probably a steel plate underneath the carpet, and he must be sitting on something attached to the stake... But still, a very special thing to see.
This weekend Martin is gliding! He is joining the gliding club for two days, it was my gift for his 30th birthday in April. I was allowed to join them this morning (or all day, if I'd wanted) and I even got the change to go gliding myself as well! Wow, what a beautiful experience! We got up to about 450 meters and had a beautiful view over the country. Really great!
Unfortunately my body doesn't like flying much, and although I loved the view and the very, very steep start, I was also happy to be back on the ground again. Martin will make a few more flights this weekend (if the weather stays good) with a flight instructor. I had seen enough and went home again, but when I look out of our window, I might see the planes in the air :)
By the way: it's pretty cool to be driving in your car on the airport!
Wow, what a day - on Saturday. Absolutely fantastic! The organization was brilliant ;) Of course, there were small problems or issues, but only small ones this year. With over 3500 participants it's impossible to satisfy everybody. I might write more about it on my website, later. But I'm not sure yet, because I'm (still) pretty tired right now. There'll be pictures on www.amusing-hengelo.nl soon for sure. The website has been updated yesterday and today already, check it out :) D-Base from Belgium and Stimmrecht from Germany really rocked the house, they were my personal highlights, and I do not stand alone in that opinion! I had time to see and hear other groups as well (sometimes really short, nevertheless I enjoyed the huge variety of groups), although I probably still missed about 85% of all the choirs. Next year? I really don't know what to do. Right now there are two things: On the one hand I love being part of this festival. On the other hand I'm completely done with it for a while. We'll see...
Heute war eigentlich ziemlich ruhig. Es gab natürlich E-Mails und wir waren noch bei meiner Schwiegermutter für die letzten Sachen rundum ihren Umzug (morgen ist Schlüsselübertragung!), aber es läuft alles wie geplant. Martin und ich sind sogar heute Abend noch ins Kino gefahren! ("The Bucket List" - schön!)
Es ist ein sehr seltsames Gefühl, im leeren Haus meiner Schwiegermutter zu stehen und im schönen Garten zu laufen. In diesem Haus gibt es so viele schöne, lustige und auch traurige Erinnerungen. Ich hoffe nicht, dass ich es später bedauern werde, dass Martin und ich das Haus nicht gekauft haben. Aber ich glaube, es war eine richtige Entscheidung. Das Haus und der Garten werde ich trotzdem wirklich vermissen.
Jetzt muss ich mal ins Bett gehen. Die E-Mails, die es jetzt noch gibt, müssen halt bis morgen warten. Ich verstehe übrigens nicht, dass es Chöre gibt, die zwei Tage vor dem Festival noch fragen ob sie doch noch mit Mikrofone auftreten können, oder ob sie doch noch auf einem anderen Zeitpunkt auftreten können *seufz*. Praktische Fragen wie "Gibt es Notenständer?" tauchen auch immer wieder auf und werde ich im nächsten Jahr in der FAQ-Liste auf der Seite einbauen (die anscheinend fast nie gelesen wird...). Oh ja, und es gab noch eine tolle Mail heute: Nachdem in mehreren Newslettern und auf der Webseite darauf hingewiesen ist, dass es auch noch offene Bühne gibt, auf denen man spontan auftreten darf, schreibt mir eine Frau: "Großer Lob für die Organisation, die gute Kommunikation und Informationen. Nur noch eine Frage: Gibt es die Möglichkeit, dass wir noch öfter auftreten können, gibt es sowas wie eine offene Bühne?" *seufz* Wer lesen kann, ist klar im Vorteil...
Morgen gibt es dann auch noch die Hochzeit einer alten Schulfreundin von Martin. Große Party! Ich bin so müde, aber es wird alles klappen!
I feel a bit mixed up. After the Wise Guys concert on Saturday I feel 200% recharged, my energy level is very high! I went to bed too late on Sunday, on Monday and on Tuesday. This morning I woke up at 6am after only 5 hours of sleep and I couldn't sleep anymore after waking up. I worked on Monday, Tuesday and today, and time flew, but when I got home I was really tired. After dinner, work starts again, there are many things to be done in the evenings now. Every evening at about 10pm my tiredness disappears and I continue answering mails, editing websites, printing checklists and other stuff, etc. (it just doesn't stop), but I should go to sleep! I'll be exhausted on Saturday if I go on like this. Luckily I'm free tomorrow and on Friday. I'll try to sleep a little longer tomorrow, but I'm afraid I'll just wake up early... and when I wake up, my mind starts and it can't stop. Is it adrenaline? I'm thrilled!! :D I want the festival to start, I want to know if the sun will be shining, I want to know if all the technical stuff is okay, I want to see people smile and hear them sing! But: I'm really looking forward to Sunday as well! And I'll be free on Monday and Tuesday - I can't wait!
Es war schööööön gestern!!! Hammer! Heute fehlt mir die Zeit für Alles. Es gibt noch viele last-minute Sachen zu tun für das Festival, ich will ein Konzertbericht schreiben, der Haushalt ist zum Heulen - aber egal! Es wird alles klappen, ich habe Energie genug!!

McDull got sick a couple of weeks ago. We went to the vet three times already and after two different antibiotics he still wasn't getting better. Today he visited the vet for the fourth time, this time to make an x-ray. After that, he could stay to have surgery, because he had a big stone in his bladder. Poor McDull. McDull is living with us for over four years already, we just didn't want to let the cute animal die! But you definitely don't want to know how expensive this surgery was.... *gulp*
Now he is lying in his cage, a bit dazzled and still a bit weak. We've got pain killers and a new antibiotic for him and on Friday there's a new appointment with the vet to check his wound.
This afternoon I drove to Almelo with the five men from Amusing, because there was a small festival in a park with some choirs. Their idea was, to stand at the entrance of the park, sing some songs and promote our festival in Hengelo. I joined them to make pictures and to film some songs for YouTube. The problem was, there was no festival. Rob was wrong, he somehow mixed up the dates. It took a few phonecalls to find this out though ;) The men decided to drive to Haaksbergen, because the shops were open there today - according to Rob. Maybe we should have been wiser, because he was wrong again and we ended up in a quiet, deserted city center. Luckily there was a little café where we had a drink (or two). After that we drove back home. On one hand a very useless afternoon, on the other hand a nice one because we had fun :) But next time I'll double check Robs findings!!
...und ist wahrscheinlich auch erst nach dem 7. Juni vorbei. Ich habe sogar das Gefühl, der Stress hat erst am letzten Wochenende angefangen! Und das, obwohl ich auch schon im Winter manchmal "geklagt" habe. Obwohl das große Puzzle, die Planung, jetzt fertig ist, gibt es jetzt noch Tausendundein organisatorische Sachen die erledigt werden sollen. Auch die 112 Chöre sehen langsam ein, dass das Festival schon in drei Wochen stattfindet und sie melden sich bei mir mit kleinen Fragen und Wünschen, und ich als Ratgeberin soll alle Antworten kennen. Kenne ich aber nicht immer, manchmal muss ich erst irgendwo nachfragen. Das Festival ist hier zu Hause Gesprächsthema Nummer Eins. Gesprächsthema Nummer Zwei ist McDull, unser Meerschweinchen. Er ist krank und wir waren in den letzten Wochen schon dreimal beim Tierarzt. Gesprächsthema Nummer Drei ist der Umzug meiner Schwiegermutter. Gesprächsthema Nummer Vier und Weiter gibt es eigentlich nicht. Mir fällt auf jeden Fall im Moment nichts ein.
Morgen in zwei Wochen fahren wir nach Köln - Wise Guys Tanzbrunnen Open Air Konzert! - aber ich habe gar keine Zeit mich darauf zu freuen. Das ist echt blöd. In Juli fahren wir nach Hamburg - A Cappella Nacht und einfach mal "Tourist-Sein" und Freunden treffen - aber auch das dauert gefühlsmäßig noch ganz lange. Aber für dieser Kurzurlaub kommt die Vorfreude bestimmt noch doppelt so stark nach den 7. Juni.
Ich freue mich besonders viel auf den 7. Juni. Erstens, weil es ein unglaublich toller Tag wird!! Echt, Wahnsinn was wir da organisieren, ich glaube es selber noch nicht mal. Zweitens, weil der Stress dann vorbei ist, so Mittags gegen Eins wahrscheinlich.
So. Und jetzt bin ich Geburtstag feiern bei einer Bekannte. Morgen geht "der Arbeit" wieder los.
We've finished the time plan!! We've been working on it all morning, until 14.00. After that we've been working in my mother-in-laws garage again - it's getting pretty empty, finally! We got back home pretty late, had dinner at half past 8 and after that I started the (final!!) manual check and I just finished it. Yeah! No problems at all. Only three minor things that could be changed to make it look better, but those are no necessities. Martin has been sleeping after dinner, because he's leaving at midnight to pick up his mother at the airport. She will arrive at a beautiful time: 3.00 or 4.00 am. They had a huge delay. She was staying in Chengdu, the city close to the epicenter of the earth quake that hit China this morning... They're all okay, fortunately, the flight only left about 8 hours too late... Oh yeah, I need to work tomorrow... let's get to bed.
Yes! This is it! 311 performances on one picture. But, don't cheer too loud yet.... we are going to do a manual check now, just to be sure. Cross your fingers, please don't let us find new problems.

It's frustrating sometimes.... we would go out today with friends and their family, we would visit a touristic place in the Netherlands with Linlins parents who are here from China. But yesterday evening Martin and I ran into problems when we were finalizing and checking the time plan for the festival. So we'll be at home today, solving the problems, because the time plan has to be finished on Wednesday. Tomorrow evening, my mother-in-law will be back from holiday and during the day we want to finish moving the things from her garage and garden. But we can only do so, when the time plan for the festival has finished.
We just feel a little bit stressed...
Martin is working on php right now, I can't do much to help him. Let's run some frustrations away, before it gets too hot again. I'll be so glad when this all is over...
Früher habe ich nur (niederländischer) Früchtetee getrunken. Das hat sich geändert seit ich eine Freundin in China habe, die ein paar Mal hier in den Niederlanden war. Ich fand heraus, dass Chinesischer Tee ganz anders schmeckt. Das ist natürlich logisch, aber wenn man nur den niederländischen Tee kennt, ist man halt nicht anders gewohnt und denkt auch nicht darüber nach. Ich habe damals viel Chinesischen grünen Tee getrunken. Im Jahre 2005 habe ich zum ersten Mal deutschen Tee getrunken (in Köln, beim KusS). Das war mal wieder ganz, ganz anders. Der Früchtetee aus Deutschland ist zehnmal so stark als den Früchtetee aus Holland. Komisch, ich dachte Früchtetee ist Früchtetee, da gibt es nicht so viele Unterschiede. Das erste Mal gefiel es mir schlecht, weil ich keinen dunklen Tee gewohnt war. Aber ich habe mich daran gewöhnt. Der niederländische Früchtetee mag ich mittlerweile gar nicht mehr, die verschiedene Früchtetees hier schmecken alle gleich. Zum Glück scheine ich nicht die Einzige zu sein, denn in den Niederlanden ist in den letzten Jahren das Angebot der Kategorie "Kräutertee" gigantisch gewachsen. Seitdem trinke ich Rooibos, Kamille und auch mal wieder grüner Tee mit Giseng. Außerdem gibt es undefinierbare Teesorten wie der Tee "Morgenmelange", der ich übrigens ganz gerne mag. Die Packung sagt, es ist ein Tee mit dem man ruhig den Tag anfangen kann. Laut Ingredienzien trinke ich Erdbeer, Brombeere, Pfefferminz, Zitrone, Fenchel, Stiefmütterchen (ein dreifarbiges Veilchen), Schafgarbe, Goldblume und noch ein paar Kräuter die sich schwer übersetzen lassen - das alles zusammen sollte frisch sein und den Trinker erquicken. Aus Deutschland mag ich die dunkle Früchtetees, aber nur, wenn ich etwas starkes brauche. Noch lieber trinke ich Teesorten wie z.B. Banane-Kleeblüten von Meßner, der auch einen undefinierbaren Namen hat: Momente des Glücks. Das nächste Mal, das ich in Deutschland bin, werde ich einen Vorrat Glück einkaufen. Warum ich diesen Text schreibe? Weil ich schon ganz lange keinen deutschen Blogeintrag geschrieben habe und weil wir am Samstag einen kleinen Tee-Laden entdeckt haben, mit vielen verschiedenen Teesorten die noch viel undefinierbarer sind. Jetzt trinke ich "Orientalische Liebe" und "Zaubererskraut"! Keine Ahnung was ich genau trinke, denn die Packung verrät auch nichts, aber es schmeckt gut und es sieht gut und gesund aus. --- Man kann und darf diesen Text übrigens auch als Blindtext nutzen ;) ---
I'm having a little holiday! Because of Queens Day (30. 4), Ascension Day (1. 5) and Liberation Day (5. 5), and because I'm working part-time, I'm having a whole week off. Finally enough time for many things we have to do. Although, enough time? I can never have enough time. But we spend our time very sufficiently so far. On Queens Day we skipped all the celebrations in town and we helped Remco in his new house (it still isn't finished haha). More painting and more wallpapering - but now he finally started the laminate flooring. Ascension Day we spend in the garage of my mother-in-laws old house. Some people were coming over to have a look at the sailing boat. We had to sell it this month, else we would have a little problem. They liked the boat, bought it and took it immediately. That's one thing less to worry about. On the picture you can see the boat still hanging on the ceiling and you can also see the rest of the things we have to tidy up and move. To be honest: It's already pretty empty on the picture. We'll cope...
So that was Thursday. On Friday we had time to do some things for the festival and I went to Utrecht, because one of my friends has moved and celebrated a house warming party. On Saturday my sister and her boyfriend visited us, because they hadn't been able to be here at Martins birthday. Because of the beautiful weather, we went out and showed them how to hunt for caches. We found a huge travel bug (read more), which was coming from Hannover. We've never seen a travel bug so big and heavy. It was at least 5 kilos. As it was lying there for 1,5 month already, we decided to take it with us and we will hide it again later, somewhere, so it can continue his journey to the North pole, because that's its goal. We carried it one by one, because it was pretty heavy! Of course, you can also make funny pictures with such a travel bug:
Today I started the day with running, because after quitting volleyball I started running again (Quäl dich fit...). I did 4.5 km within half an hour. Not bad. But not spectacular either ;) I want to train myself to do 10 km within an hour, but I'm not sure if I'll succeed. We'll see.
I planned to do some things for the festival today, but the weather is so good... I want to go out again! I want to read a book in the sun with a cold drink, or make another walk in the forest! Well, maybe I can make myself to work for an hour or two, and then reward myself with the sun... Enjoy the day!
What a beautiful day! Warm and sunny, it felt like summer! Together with my sister-in-law Nadine, we went out to hunt some caches around Gronau in Germany. It was great to be there and discover nice places to walk. Today, we also met Nadine's new guinea pig. I love her new pet, because it's just so ugly and weird. Judge for yourself.
Her name is Swiffer, because you could mop the floor with her. Of course, we would never do that, but it is possible! ;)
A couple of years ago, Martin kept telling me he wanted to be a daddy when he was 30. He changed his mind, as you could see - addition to the family will probably happen one day, but not yet!
Martins 30th birthday was last Friday and our nephew Stephan visited us and also spent the night at our place. We felt a little bit like a small family! Stephan is so cute. He's an easy boy to handle and he is almost always happy. We found out he doesn't like peanut butter and he also doesn't like the slide in the playground. But he loves to play with us and with his ball and he observed our guinea-pig very cautiously. He also likes to squash peas and throw them on the floor. He can come over more often!
"Tell me, why are you applying for this internship?" I asked a dozen times today. I had 12 job interviews and now I've got a headache ;) But it was fun though. I remembered being a student and applying for an internship myself (seven years ago! I'm getting older....) - how nervous I was and how exciting it was! Today, on the other side of the table, I felt 100% relaxed and I sometimes felt a little sorry for seeing the young girls (nope, no boys at all) sweating and searching for the right answers.
And now, Wednesday evening, my weekend has already started!! Not without reason: Tomorrow afternoon we'll visit my brother, because he will take his doctoral degree at the university. I've got to be dressed properly, common clothes like jeans are not allowed... hmmm... help!! I don't know what to wear! On Friday it's Martins 30th birthday! Partytime!!
I just got home from work and found 22 new messages in my personal mailbox and 6 in my festival mailbox. Luckily the 28 messages were quickly ordered into 12 not really important ones which could be deleted pretty quickly, 10 informing ones which can be filed after reading, and 6 important ones which need an answer quickly. Besides mail, I want to finish two big cappella reports for my website and I want to select and edit the pictures I made during the Basix concert. Don't worry, I won't get bored!
But first, I've got to do the dishes. And that will be the last thing I do today. I'm totally done for today! Good night :)
I'm about to leave the house to play my very, very, very last volleybal game. It will be the last game for me, because I'll quit playing after this season. I feel relieved actually. But first, I have to find some energy to get through the next couple of hours. The past few days were too full and I definitely didn't get enough sleep... tomorrow and Sunday won't be different. I could use some free hours to catch up with my e-mail and to write a concert report (I saw BaSix this week)... but I guess I'll have to do it after the game tonight. I hope I'll be home soon and I wish I can finish my "to-do-list" before 23.00 tonight... Tomorrow will be fun though: Festival for vocal ensembles, with (again!) BaSix during the Afterparty :) I just hope I can enjoy it without continuous yawning... ;)
As I told you before, a lot of people around us are moving / about to move. Martin and I are splitting up today. Martin is laying a laminate flooring in his mothers new apartment and I'm going to paint some walls in Remco's new home this afternoon. Concerning our own search for a house: Martin and I found another house which we want to visit next week, but to be honest I'd rather not buy a house yet. The coming two months are really busy, because of the upcoming festival and I don't see how moving should fit in. It would be perfect to buy a house in June or July or later this year.... but what happens if we find the house of our dreams now? *worry* Have a nice weekend!! :) PS: I'd like to thank Dennis and Linlin, for moving without needing our help. When's the house warming party with traditional Chinese food!?? ;)
I pretty much loved this weekend :) We finally had some time to relax, we had time to go to the cinema (saw the movie "10.000 BC"), we had time for a long Easter-breakfast on Sunday, we had time to fill in the tax return papers (okay, didn't really enjoy that, but it has to be done) and we had time to visit friends: Siny celebrated her birthday, Dennis and Linlin are in the middle of moving and showed us their new home, Remco is going to move as well and we helped him remove old wallpaper, my mother-in-law got the key of her new home last week, so we also visited her. We also made a little tour in our car through Hengelo to watch some houses which might be interesting for ourselves, because we also want to move this year. There are so many houses for sale. But our demands are pretty high, so it might take a while before we find that particular house we love. To continue the moving-story: My sister will be moving this summer. And my grandmother in August. In 2007 two other relatives (from that part of the family) already moved.
So, instead of searching for eggs, we've been searching and visiting houses. And we will do the same during the next weeks/months. Plus helping Remco move, plus helping my mother-in-law move. And when we find our house, they can help us in return ;)
Soms heb je een luxe-probleem. Zoals afgelopen weekend, waarin ik kon kiezen tussen een weekendje Landal met het ene groepje vriendinnen, of een weekendje Center Parcs met het andere groepje vriendinnen. Het werd het eerste, puur omdat dit weekendje weg al langer vaststond dan het andere. Helaas dus zonder tropisch zwembad, maar wel met "Alles is Liefde" op DVD. En hoewel ik niet van Nederlandse films hou en deze dus ook nog niet gezien had, was hij toch wel erg leuk. Winkelen met dit keer maar liefst drie zwangere vrouwen (neehee, ik niet) is ook een belevenis op zich. Je ziet heel wat meer cafeetjes (omdat ze zo vaak moeten plassen) en ik ben weer helemaal op de hoogte van de laatste mode in de positiekleding. Verder gebeurt er bijzonder weinig in zo'n weekend, want er moet natuurlijk veel uitgerust en bijgekletst worden. Gourmetten hoort er ook altijd bij. Is dat eigenlijk iets typisch Nederlands? 't Is eigenlijk wel idioot, om je eten te laten verpieteren in van die kleine pannetjes, waarbij er altijd de discussie ontstaat wie de plek heeft waar dat ding het heetste is, en waar je vlees dus als eerste gaar is. De pannenkoeken worden ook nooit mooi, en toch eet je ze op. We zijn een raar volkje...
En hoe kun je zo'n relaxed weekend het beste afsluiten? Door op maandagochtend weer naar huis te rijden, je spullen te droppen, vervolgens naar kantoor van Martin te rijden voor een heuse "lunchdate" en daarna aan het begin van de middag samen naar Bonn te rijden om de files voor te zijn. Toevallig hou je daardoor bergen tijd over, waardoor je nog even leuk kunt geocachen in Bonn. Daarbij haal je een nieuw record in "distance extremes", want zover van huis had je nog nooit gecacht. Als het dan tijd is, ga je in de rij staan bij het Pantheon, waar het steeds drukker en drukker wordt, totdat de deur open gaat en je een prachtig plaatsje in dit ontzettend lieve theatertje vind. Nog even wachten en dan geniet je ruim twee uur van de allerleukste a cappella groep die je kent.
...und wenn man nachts im Bett liegt, dann ist man richtig platt... Mach mal langsam, nimm dir Zeit, dich auszuruhn. Mach mal langsam, sei bereit, mal nix zu tun... Das ist Luxus...
"Egal, ist beides gut!" schrieb mir Lena als Antwort auf meine SMS, in der ich mich darüber verwunderte, dass wir gerade Karten für Noah war ein Archetyp in die Hand gedrückt bekommen hatten, statt Karten für Achillesverse. Vielleicht zeigt es die Fülle meines Kopfes in diesen Tagen... Oder ich bin irgendwie gräßlich vergesslich. Oder, und das ist eher beruhigend, wie eine Stefanie im Gästebuch auf bodowartke.de schreibt, es ging nicht nur uns so, es lag sicher daran das im Tourplan auch erst Achillesverse stand und es irgendwann zwischendurch mal geändert wurde.
Egal, wir sehen Bodo Wartke zum ersten Mal live! Auch Bodo fällt es nicht leicht, mehrere Programme nebeneinander zu spielen. Deswegen hat er ein kleines Notizbuch dabei, in dem er immer wieder schauen kann, welches Lied als nächste dran ist.
Die neuen Lieder über Frauen, die Tiergedichte, die Ödipus-Episoden, es war alles genial. Wir haben viel und laut gelacht. Ich liebe seinen Humor, die Kreativität, die Wortwitze und Zwischenreime. Er ist absolut ein sehr talantierter Klavierspieler und hat heute gezeigt auch schauspielerische Qualitäten zu haben.
Natürlich freuten wir uns schon auf das Liebeslied, weil wir tierisch gespannt waren auf Bodos Reaktion auf unser JA!!-Geschrei, nach der Frage ob es Holländer im Saal gibt. Für die Nicht-Bodo-Kenner:
[gesungen]Ik wil het in alle talen met je delen, op alle instrumenten voor je spelen, kwelen. Nou weet ik echt: Ik hou van jou.
[gesprochen]Ja, wenn man sowas hört, denkt man sich doch: Mann, was müssen die Holländer für’n Spaß haben! Ich würde da spontan reagieren mit: „Ja, pass mal auf, ich haue zurück!“ Ich weiß ja nicht... Haben wir Holländer hier heute abend?
Er hat sich wirklich erschrocken als wir uns gemeldet haben, das Saallicht wurde sofort angemacht und wirklich alle Leute im Saal starrten uns an hahahaha. Bei meinem Sitznachbar klang auch ein "Hä??" *g* und Bodo hat uns überrascht und fröhlich angeguckt und gelacht. Er hat sich dann entschuldigt und irgendetwas wie "oh, so unbequem" genuschelt, haha. Und er hat weitergesungen:
Wo immer du auch wohnst, welche Sprache du auch sprichst, wenn wir uns begegnen, dann lern’ ich.... Holländisch. (statt "dann lern' ich sie für dich" und wobei er eigentlich "Holländich" sang, sonst reimt es sich natürlich nicht)

Einen sinnvollen Beitrag zu schreiben schaffe ich heute nicht mehr, ich wollte nur kurz melden, dass es mir ein bisschen besser geht. Ich verteile meine Energie zwischen Arbeit und Festivalsachen, und die Kraft, die dann noch übrig bleibt verschwindet in Häusersucherei (dieses Jahr solls irgendwann klappen eine eigene Wohnung zu kaufen) und Haushalt. Leider komme ich viel zu wenig dazu, Mails zu beantworten und Kontakte, die mir eigentlich ganz wichtig sind, instand zu halten *seufz*. So gibt es noch eine Mail mit dem Betreff "Neujahrsgrüße und so", die ich schon seit zwei Monaten beantworten will. Und so gibt es Blogs, die ich zwar immer noch lese, aber bei denen ich keine Zeit und Kraft finde, einen sinnvollen Kommmentar zu schreiben. Es tut mir leid :( Aber, ich mache im Moment mal öfters langsam ;) und habe seit dem WE weniger Kopfweh und bin nicht mehr so schwindlig wie z.B. letzte Woche. Übrigens habe ich keine Blutarmut, das habe ich dann doch noch checken lassen. Gut. Schon spät, ich muss ins Bett. *winke* Ich freu mich auf Montag, dann sehen wir -endlich- Bodo Wartke live!!!

Another week has disappeared, full of work and full of tiredness. Slowly I'm starting to suspect something like anaemia, because I feel dizzy and light-headed sometimes as well. "When symptoms do appear, common ones include lethargy, weakness, dizzy spells and feeling faint." Ah, that sounds like me! So I should see a doctor, but my doctor is having a holiday. Probably went skiing, just like everybody else this week, it seems... Anyway, I don't feel like seeing another doctor (read: I don't have the energy to find out how, who and where), so in the meantime I try my own recipe: Visiting an a cappella concert to charge my battery ;) It has worked before ;)
Intrmzzo positively surprised me, we really had a great evening yesterday! There'll be a report on my website soon. I'm already working on it, but I'm a bit tired actually... I made some nice pictures yesterday, although it wasn't easy. Dark stage, often black and white clothes, difficult lighting for pictures... but I've got some nice ones! :D

Genial! Großartig! Wahnsinn! Geil! Kaum in Worte zu fassen: die Wise Guys Spezialnacht war wunderschön. Muskelweh vom Klatschen, bisschen Kopfweh vom vielen Lachen, Halsschmerzen vom Singen und Jubeln, aber alles ist egal: Es war es wieder wert! Ich werde meine beste Bilder (ich habe so viele gute...) hoffentlich heute noch online stellen, mit vielleicht einem kleinen Bericht. Allerdings weiß ich nicht ob ich es hinkrieg... aber ich werde´s versuchen. In der nächsten Woche habe ich nämlich sowieso keine Zeit, es sollte also heute passieren :)
Die kleine Giraffe (mehr Infos gibt es hier) macht es auch in den Niederlanden ganz gut. Die Kinder mit denen ich arbeite, finden die Geschichte ganz toll. Was sie aber nicht wissen ist, dass ich die Geschichte natürlich nicht wirklich vorlas, aber übersetzte und ziemlich einkürzte. Die ganze Geschichte ist viel zu lang und umfangreich für sie, und auf Deutsch hatte ich wahrscheinlich sowieso kein Erfolg gehabt ;)
Bei der ersten Hälfte des Buches hörten sie aufmerksam zu. Dann haben wir Giraffen gebastelt, aber die dürften sie nur noch Gelb malen. Denn die Giraffe hatte ihre Punkte verloren! Am nächsten Tag, nach der zweiten Hälfte des Buches, waren sie alle froh, dass sie doch auch noch braune Punkte drauf malen dürften - denn eine Giraffe ohne Punkte war doch keine fertige Giraffe.
Das Endergebnis:
Schade ist es aber, dass ich das supertolle Horbuch nicht benutzen kann. Obwohl das Affengeschrei wahrscheinlich für alle Kinder in der Welt lustig klingt. Na, vielleicht versuche ich es einfach mal... und dann berichte ich in ein paar Wochen darüber wie gut die Kinder jetzt schon Deutsch reden ;)

Besser gesagt, das Wochenende ist schon wieder halb rum! Wo bleibt die Zeit? Wie oft habe ich schon gesagt, dass ich gerne ein bisschen mehr davon hätte? Vor allem Freizeit, davon hätte ich gerne eine ganze Menge. Wo ist die Zeit geblieben, wenn ich in einem Tag ein ganzes Buch lesen konnte, Abends mehrere TV-Programme anschauen konnte (egal wie schlecht sie waren) und mein Haus immer ordentlich war?
Mein Schädel fühlt sich an wie ein Atomkraftwerk.... voller Gedanken über Arbeit, Freizeitbeschäftigung und unsere künftige Umzugspläne. Häufig Kopfweh... viel zu oft müde... Nein, eigentlich gehts mir gar nicht so ganz gut. Ich bin einfach nicht zufrieden und möchte mal wieder mehr Zeit für mich selbst haben und das tun, was ich auch wirklich gerne tue.
Was ist von meinen Plänen geworden, das Deutsch Zertifikat beim Goethe Institut zu erwerben? Wann werde ich endlich meine A Cappella Fanseite überarbeiten können? Wann spiele ich endlich wieder Gitarre? Und wann singe ich endlich wieder in einem Chor?
Aber die Antwort ist schon da! Ab nächsten Sommer!! Naja, ist natürlich abhängig von unseren Umzugsplänen und wann ein Umzug genau stattfinden wird. Aber ich glaube, ab Juni werde ich eine ganze menge mehr Zeit haben.
Denn 1) ich werde mit dem Volleybal aufhören, weil es mir im Moment zu viel Zeit kostet und leider meistens stattfindet auf Momenten die mir nicht gut passen. Stattdessen möchte ich mal wieder Joggen gehen - bleibt nur die Frage ob ich dafür genug Selbstdisziplin habe, eine Frage die ich wohl nächstes Jahr beantworten kann. Meinen Teamkamaradinnen waren nicht so ganz glücklich mit dieser Nachricht und haben mich gefragt nochmals ernsthaft zu überlegen. Und 2) ich werde im nächsten Jahr nicht wieder das Festival organisieren, weil es mir auf diese Art und Weise zu wenig Spaß macht. Manche Leute kennen die Geschichte... Und, obwohl es mir unglaublig leid tut, 3) ist die Arbeit für Montezuma Fanzone schon beendet, weil Montezuma´s Revenge, wie ihr alle wisst, leider nicht mehr existiert...
Fast auf einmal werden alle meine Freizeitsbeschäftigungen bei denen ich irgendwelche Verpflichtungen habe, weg sein. Und das tut gut. Glaube ich. Zumindest fühlt die Entscheidung für die 1) und 2) im Moment richtig gut, und ich freue mich jetzt schon auf Zeit für die Dingen, die ich jetzt nicht tun kann.
Es wird also noch 4 Monaten geben, in denen ich viel zu tun habe. Da muss ich durch. Danach wird es sicherlich auch viel zu tun geben, aber wenigstens gibt es dann Neues. Neuen Wahlen, um genau das zu tun was mir am Besten passt :) *erleichtert aufatme*
After reading the book (part 1), we'll see the movie tonight :) I like fantasy stories like this and I'm curious what the movie will be like. I've been searching the internet for information about this fantasy world and I've found a test to discover my deamon (my soul and best friend). If you don't know the story, you'll probably don't really understand, but it would be nice if you help me "assessing my true personality" ;) I've got 12 days before my deamon form is fixed.
I got my new camera on Wednesday and we've been making a lot of test-pictures already. I promised some spectacular pics, but it's hard to make them when there is nothing spectacular to make pictures of ;) The weather is cloudy and rainy and dark and even inside the house it seems to be dark all the time. But, the supermacro is nice:
The zoom function (12x optical zoom) is also stunning, although I doubt it will be usable during concerts, because it will be hard not to make shaky, unsharp pictures with full zoom. I guess I need a gorilla pod ánd a balcony rail ;)
Anyway, we'll test concert pictures later...
Another cool function on the camera is the "color accent" with which you can make black and white pictures with one color accent. Little demonstration:
That's all for now concerning the "spectacular pics" ;) I want to read the advanced camera user guide (200 pages...) and I'll keep practising and experimenting so I hope I can show you more spectacular pics later.
a cappella fans in Nederland! Heb je even een momentje voor de Wise Guys? :)
Bij onze Oosterse a cappella vrienden wordt vanaf vandaag afgeteld naar 15 februari, want dan komt het nieuwe album van de Wise Guys uit: "FREI!" Op de website van de Wise Guys wordt hier uitgebreid aandacht aan besteed. Op een speciale nieuwspagina vind je alle informatie rondom het nieuwe album. De echte fan kijkt zeker vanaf vandaag dagelijks naar de laatste updates. Van tracklist tot beschrijving van de nummers tot geluidsfragmenten, beetje bij beetje wordt de sluier opgelicht.
Daarnaast heb ik nog wat concertkaartjes "in de aanbieding"! Maandag 17 maart 2008 - Pantheon in Bonn Vier kaarten heb ik weten te bemachtigen. De vier concerten in het zeer geliefde Pantheon waren wederom binnen een half uur uitverkocht. Vrije plaatskeuze maakt het wel wenselijk om op tijd in het theater aanwezig te zijn (uiterlijk half 7), alhoewel je bijna overal goed zit in het gezellige, knusse theatertje. Donderdag 13 november 2008 - Stadthalle in Osnabrück Voor deze avond heb ik vijf kaarten op het balkon. Wie heeft er zin om op één van beide avonden met Martin en mij mee te gaan?
Mocht je trouwens, net als ik, geen flauw idee hebben wie je favorite Wise Guy is, en maakt het je ook eigenlijk helemaal niets uit, dan is het toch nog steeds leuk om met deze knutselpagina je favorite Wise Guy te vinden.
Nog iets, vooral leuk voor de 8 personen die in november mee waren naar het concert in Wesel: Op Youtube zijn twee nieuwe filmpjes te vinden (uiteraard geheel illegaal gefilmd door iemand...) van de nieuwe nummers Deutschlehrerin en Es ist nicht immer leicht. Uiteraard in de belabberde kwaliteit zoals iedereen van dit soort filmpjes gewend is.
Ik hoop op veel respons hieronder, want anders blijk ik toch de enige Wise Guys fan in Nederland te zijn ;)
Nice, isn't it? I've been wanting a new digital camera for a long time already, but today we decided which one it will be. After comparing some Panasonics, Canons and Kodaks, I concluded the Canon Powershot S5 IS will be mine. Is this a "once a Canon, always a Canon"-phenomenon? I only need a little patience before I can hold it in my hands. For some reason "available" doesn't mean "available right now", and therefor I can't get it today. But it's been ordered and paid for already and hopefully I can show you some spectacular pics within a week.
If you ever need to feel happy, you should watch Enchanted. This movie is sweet, totally over-acted and really funny. Best to watch with friends :) Happy feeling afterwards garanteed. Short summary: Fairy-tale princess, prince and bad witch end up in the real world in New York.
There should be a picture here of Martin and me at midnight on New Years Eve, but my sister can't figure out how to download her pictures from her camera and that's why there's no picture. Sorry. But still, a happy new year to all of you! We had nice celebrations during the past two weeks. New Years Eve we celebrated with my parents and family. On Christmas day we were with Martins mother, his sister and her boyfriend, and we celebrated the day with presents and too much food. The day after Christmas, it was the first birthday of my little nephew. He's absolutely adorable and as soon as he sees a camera he starts to smile. But we managed to make some pictures of him where he is not smiling ;)
We also spent some days at Center Parcs, a place to relax and spend the days sleeping, swimming, reading, going out for dinner and watching movies. It's great to be there, without computer and internet, and not being able to 'work'.
But the happy new year has really started today, as I managed to gather tickets for the Wise Guys in the Pantheon theater in Bonn!!!!!! I don't know how fast the four concerts for March were sold out this time (last time, I didn't succeed), but I read something about "within 9 minutes". Anyway, we'll be there this time!! I can hardly believe it... :D
